Bucharest – Cozia – Sibiu (approx. 280 km)

Palace of Parliament - In the morning, visit the Palace of the Parliament, the largest administrative building in Europe and the second largest in the world after the Pentagon in the USA.

Cozia Monastery - Depart for Sibiu, passing through the breathtaking Olt Valley, and visit the medieval Orthodox Cozia Monastery.

Sibiu - Arrive in Sibiu at noon, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Eastern Europe. In 2007, Sibiu was celebrated as the European Capital of Culture, and in 2019, it was the center of the Region of European Gastronomy. Enjoy a pleasant walking tour through the Old Town and visit the Small and Grand Squares, the Liar’s Bridge, Huet Square, and the Lutheran Church. In the evening, discover the second-largest Museum of Icons on Glass in the world and enjoy a delicious traditional dinner with locals in the small, idyllic mountain village of Sibiel. Sibiu – Medias – Sighisoara – Brasov (approx. 220 km)

Medias - This morning, enjoy a scenic ride on the spectacular country roads of Transylvania and see the small Saxon villages with colorful houses and fortified churches. Stop in Medias for an interesting visit to St. Margaret Church with its inclined tower.

Biertan Fortified Church - Continue towards Biertan to visit the largest church castle in Transylvania, an important UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sighisoara - Arrive in Sighisoara, another medieval citadel listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. During the guided tour, visit the town’s landmark, the Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill, and the birthplace of Count Dracula.

Brasov – Bran – Brasov (approx. 60 km)

Brasov Historical Center - Start the day with a city tour of Brasov, known as “The Heart of Transylvania.” This 800-year-old town has preserved its Old Town and medieval atmosphere almost intact. Visit the Black Church, the largest Gothic construction of its kind between Istanbul and Vienna.

Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Visit the famous Dracula Castle in Bran. Built by the German Saxons in the 14th century, it is today Romania’s main attraction.

Brasov – Sinaia – Tulcea (approx. 400 km)

Peles Castle - Visit the elegant Peles Castle this morning, built at the end of the 19th century as a summer residence for the Romanian Royal Family. It was the most modern castle of its time, with elevators, central heating, and electricity. Inside the castle, you will find many original paintings by Austrian painter Gustav Klimt.

Tulcea - Head south towards sunny Dobrogea and overnight in Tulcea, the “Gate of the Danube Delta.”

Excursion in the Danube Delta

Danube Delta - Embark this morning on an excursion boat that will take you to the heart of Europe’s best-preserved natural habitat. The Danube Delta has been included in UNESCO’s World Heritage list since 1990 and is one of the wildest areas in Europe. It is a sanctuary for more than 300 species of birds and a major migration hub for thousands of birds traveling to and from Mongolia, Siberia, India, Africa, and China. Learn more about the formation of the Danube Delta and the many bird and fish species living here. Enjoy nature and a delicious typical lunch. In the afternoon, return to your hotel in Tulcea.

Tulcea – Constanta – Bucharest (approx. 290 km)

Constanta - Enjoy a scenic ride to Constanta, the largest harbor on the Black Sea and one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe. The guided tour starts at the ancient Ovidiu Square.

Museum of National History and Archeology - Visit the Archaeological Museum with its outstanding collections of ancient statues and jewels.

Faleza Cazino Constanta - Continue with the Roman Mosaic, the largest of its kind in Eastern Europe, and the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul. Enjoy some free time at the beach in Mamaia, the finest resort on the Romanian Black Sea Coast, and then head north to Bucharest.
