- Biserica Sfantul Gheorghe Nou - Next, we’ll head to the Tram Station, located right in front of New St. George’s Church, consecrated in 1707 and considered a marvel of its time. A 15-minute tram ride will take us along Mosilor Avenue, which divides the Jewish quarter from the Armenian quarter and then introduces us to communist architecture.
- Piata Obor Bucuresti - Obor Market – one of Romania’s largest and oldest traditional markets, existing in various forms for over 300 years. If you’re interested in Romanian food and culture, Obor Market is a fascinating place to start. Here, you can find everything from cheese and meat products, numerous types of honey, fresh fruits and vegetables to sauerkraut, spices, and handcrafted wooden bowls sold at market stalls and small shops spread over approximately 26,000 square meters. A well-known terrace selling “mititei” (traditional Romanian grilled ground meat rolls) and cold beer is our next great spot for an indulgent stop, as well as for mingling with the locals.
- Universitate - After this authentic experience, we’ll hop on a trolleybus and head back along Mosilor Street and Carol I Boulevard to another historically rich area – University Square. As we walk, we will see and learn about the most important historical landmarks located between University Square and Cismigiu Park.
- Cismigiu Parc - As the saying goes, there is no better way to bring people together than with desserts. So, our indulgent tour will end at a fine traditional restaurant where we’ll enjoy sweet Wallachian doughnuts called Papanasi, served hot, filled with jam, and topped with delicious sour cream. What a way to ensure you leave Bucharest with sweet memories!
