Excellent tour! - This was a wonderful tour! Vlad was very knowledgeable about the history of Bucharest and the stories behind the buildings and monuments we saw. It was definitely good to see the city with someone who really knows it to make sure we saw all the most important sights. Vlad was extremely friendly and we had a wonderful time

Great tour with our guide from... -
Great tour with our guide from earlier in the day Walking Old Town so since we had covered a lot of ground already we stopped in a local bar for a pre-tasting snack and drink before proceeding to Abel bar for a fine selection of Romanian wines and excellent discussion of history and culture in Romania - definitely something to do if you have the time in Bucharest.

Our guide Gabriella was excellent and took us round the main sites in the old town, telling us about the history and culture of the city before visiting a local wine bar in the old town to try wines from the different regions of Romania. Gabriella was a great tour guide and it was really clear how passionate she was about her country. We had a really really fun evening and my friend and I would definitely recommend it.

Great Wines and Conversation - After an initial hiccup where the tour guide misunderstood the meeting time, we managed to reschedule with Anamaria. Since we had already been in Bucharest for a week and already did a long tour of old town, we asked her to take us directly to the wine bar and talk about the wines and the regions. She is very knowledgeable about that and Romanian history. We ended up having a fantastic time just sitting in the wine bar and talking about history and many other things. We had a great time, the cheese board was excellent, and the wines were fantastic too. The 4 rating is only because of the misunderstanding for the initial tour. Our experience would have been different if we had done this at the beginning of our trip as originally planned. Though we still very much enjoyed it.

Not really a wine tour - This isn't actually a wine tasting tour. The walking tour of Bucharest Old Town itself was good (2 hours) but that is pretty much where it ends. We were left alone in a restaurant where they gave us 3 of the house wines with no information about the wines whatsoever. When we asked what each was we were told "house red, white and rose" so guess we weren't going to learn anything about Romanian wine! The wines themselves were extremely poor. According to the menu, each wine was 19 RON per glass and the cheese board was 84.5 RON between two - the cheeses tasted like water. In total we spent £147 when we got £31 of wine and cheese. Frankly, this felt like a ripoff. We were very excited to learn about Romanian wine and simply did not get that. Vlad was an excellent walking guide to the Old Town, and if that's all we'd booked we would have given him 4*. But we didn't. Best to book a walking tour that would've cost significantly less then go to Corks for nice wine.
