Ever heard of Rugelach? Or perhaps made Challah? If traditional Central-European Jewish delicacies pique your curiosity, then come and join us in cooking. Discover the history behind Jewish meals and beverages, how they’re prepared and get a glimpse of our lifestyle in Budapest. I’m thrilled to share with you captivating family anecdotes.

About me: ‘I first became acquainted with the Jewish community and their culture over 15 years ago when I met my husband. From then on, I became part of a contemporary Jewish family. The matriarch of our family, with her zest for life, positive temperament and forward-thinking outlook, has been an inspiration for me. She’s the one who introduced me to these recipes, and for that, I’m deeply thankful to her for unveiling the mysteries of Jewish culinary art.’

Awesome Class!! - This cooking class was one of the best we have done so far. We try to do at least one (and a lot of times more) cooking class in every country we visit in Europe. Marti was awesome! This class is full hands on. She doesn’t just show you how to mix, knead, or stir while she does it all. She shows you or tells you how and then you do it. My husband even enjoyed it. The most cooking he does at home is warm things in the microwave. The food we made was delicious. Marti made cooking fun. You can really tell that she loves her job.

Jewish cooking with a local - Thank you to Marti for sharing her kitchen at short notice to join the Jewish cooking class. Beautiful food cooked in a small group and shared over a glass of Hungarian wine. Loved sharing food and travel tips in Marti’s relaxed kitchen.

Great class! - This cooking class was wonderful! Marti made us feel comfortable and confident while we made delicious food. She taught us helpful tricks, but most importantly-she was a pleasure to spend time with during the class. Being able to speak with her and learn more about Hungarian traditions and life was fabulous. Highly recommend the class and any chance to spend time with Marti.

Delightful highlight in Budapest - We had a delightful evening with Marti! Not only did we learn about cooking and get to eat a delicious meal, Marti herself is a really interesting and intelligent woman who has done a lot of things in her life and she is a great person to spend an evening! It was so interesting to hear her thoughts on the political situation in Hungary, growing up in Hungary, etc. She's super cool, highly recommend!
