Additional Information

Perched atop a hill extending from the shores of the Danube, the Castle District in Budapest spans across 1.5 kilometers. This quaint neighborhood, encased within walls, lends a timeless feel with numerous spots to gaze at the stunning cityscape below. This tour will take you through some of the oldest parts of the city, brimming with history, compelling tales, and delightful architecture, as well as reminders of numerous past conflicts. Venture past the clusters of tour buses, and you’ll find a serene, vehicle-free street network with twisty cobbled lanes, baroque and gothic exteriors, vibrant old stucco homes, and some of Budapest’s most iconic buildings and landmarks. This tour will not only exhibit key sites—such as the eclectic Matthias Church adorned with a multi-colored tiled roof and the brightly hued interior, the Royal Palace complex, and the Fisherman’s Bastion—but also the hidden gems tucked away in the bylanes.
