Synagogue tour - The tour was extremely well organized and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave a great presentation on the Synagogue and the history from the beginning and into the time period of 1944-1945 and the tragic events in history.

Great tourn - Really great tour, just the right amount of time and information without being overloaded. The synagogue is a must see and our tour guide David talked about the Jewish history in Budapest in a way that made it really interesting but also not super heavy despite the subject matter

Restored Dohany St. Synagogue brings alive the vibrant Jewish culture that existed prior to WWII. - The 19th century Moorish-revival Dohany Street Synagogue is the 2nd largest in the world after Temple Emanu-El in New York. Budapest had a thriving Jewish community a century ago. Half of the city's 250,000 Jews were killed in WWII and the edifice turned into a stable. Today, a rich Jewish Quarter history has been preserved in the synagogue, complex, museum and a "Tree of Life" memorial to the 400,000 Hungarian Jews killed by the Nazis. Religious services are held there on Saturdays & Jewish Holidays. Stones have been left by visitors in remembrance of those who were killed in concentration camps and elsewhere.

Synagogue to discover - Fascinating visit thanks to the involvement of the description of Francis, not to be missed! Thanks to him, we got to know a world, a culture and a religion quite far from us! And we were also able to emotionally relive the darkest and saddest years of European history. Mauro & Silvana.

Too many people on the tour - We started the tour with about 20 people who paid Viator. Once we got inside about 20 people joined the group since they heard our wonderful guide speak English. There was no way for the guide to tell the people who paid for a Viator tour from the people who just joined the group. You should have a sticker so we could put it on our jackets so the guides could tell who should be in the group and who shouldn't be. The guide stated several times that this was a private tour but no one left the group. We ended up having about 45 people in the tour instead of the 20 that was scheduled. It was disappointing not to have an intimate tour that we paid for, instead we had a large group.

Beautiful synagogue but far too excessive price ... - Completely excessive price in relation to the visit. Even if the synagogue is beautiful , 24€ to see this , it is very exaggerated, I hope the money is well managed!
