Jewish Walk a wonderful experience! - Timea Tarjani led our university group through a multi-faceted walk through Jewish culture and history in Budapest, culminating in guided tours of Rumbach Synagogue and Dohany St. Synagogue. This is a rich and rewarding experience for our students. Though much of the history is tragic, Timea emphasizes the resilience of the Jewish community in Budapest and elsewhere. Timea is a wonderful teacher and a great communicator. She responds to questions with detailed knowledge and insight. The Jewish Walk is a highlight of our experience in Budapest. Highly recommended!

Very personal tour - We hired Timea for a half day tour of the Jewish Quarter. It was incredible to hear her own family's stories of their life and the life of Jews in Budapest. It added such great color to our few days in Hungary. Highly informative and personal tour. Definitely recommend her.

Highly recommend this tour. - Amazing! I would highly recommend this tour. Tímea Was extremely knowledgable and shared lots of stories about the history of the Jewish quarter and also about Budapest and Hungary. She was able to answer all of our questions and made recommendations to places we were planning on visiting. She sent a follow up email with lots of information that supported us on the rest of our trip and will allow us to dig deeper into some of the questions we had about Hungary through the ages.

The best tour guide for our 2 days in Budapest. - Timea is great. A life long resident of Budapest Timea is very knowledgeable about her city. Her Jewish tour is very complete and carefully explained with her family history included with her discussions. She’s caring and attentive to her guests wants and needs and tailors her tour to each group. We spent 2 days with Timea and can’t express how much we enjoyed and understood Budapest after our visit. Timea is the perfect guide for families with children of all ages (she’s also a teacher) and older couples too. You won’t be disappointed if you spend your time in Budapest with her. Timea speaks many languages and her English for our group was perfect

A wonderful private guide in Budapest - My wife and I had the great fortune to spend two half days in Budapest with Tímea in mid-March. We spent the first day exploring Jewish Budapest and the second day exploring secular Budapest. Several months before our trip Tímea sent us a great deal of material to read which was comprehensive and wide ranging, which she supplemented with additional material while we were in Budapest. Her knowledge of the city and her affection for it were apparent; she was able to tailor our sessions to our particular interests. She made our trip memorable and great. She constantly pointed out little things which we as tourists would not otherwise have noticed. She has a wealth of stories, anecdotes and a charming manner. Her English is perfect. We give her our highest recommendation.

Budapest City Walk - Budapest City Walk was incredible! Timea was incredibly, warm, welcoming and knowledgeable, and it was great getting both her historical, present day and personal insights into Budapest as well as the important Jewish sights and the tapestry of the community. We would definitely recommend Timea when you are in Budapest!

The Jewish Quarter of Budapest - It's a good thing that one of the areas most affected by the horrors of the 2nd. World War II and German rule have now become one of the busiest areas of Budapest. Preserved and restored synagogues, very good restaurants, bars and cafes. You can still see a part of the Ghetto where the Jews "lived". Fortunately, life continues without forgetting the past and the preservation of memories. There are beautiful buildings in the neighborhood, synagogues and the Great Synagogue, on Doheny Street, built in the 1850s in Moorish Renaissance style (is the second largest synagogue in the world, and the largest in Europe). You have to know and enjoy. It's important for history, for memories, and for life that goes on, despite all yesterday and today.

Fabulous Guide and Tour - We took Timea's tour having seen her web page and communicated in advance by email. She was the best guide - taking us to known and unknown places we would never have found alone. She is also most knowledgeable about the history of the city and the people, sharing with us her personal experiences growing up under the communist regime. She was engaging and interesting throughout and we are so glad we booked.
