Fun and informative - Fun evening. Danny, our guide was great- it was like going out for drinks in amazing surroundings with a fun friend. I can recommend this experience.

Highly recommended tour - We had a wonderful evening with Eliz our tour guide. She took us to three ruin bars plus a stop for Langos. She entertained us with stories of the ruin bars and Hungary. She is very knowledgeable about the history and a very good host. Highly recommend!

A Great Way to Spend a Causal Evening! - We kicked off day 1 in Budapest with an AM to early afternoon food tour (entirely separate from this tour) and we closed it with a delightful Ruin Bar tour in the evening with Eliza, our tour guide. Our on-time start at 6pm with a casual walk through the Jewish quarter was enlightened by Eliza explaining the history of The Ghetto and how the Ruin Bars came to be. Three stops — each one quite different in its history, design and overall vibe, we appreciated learning more about Budapest over a beverage at each stop — one of which was, of course, palinka! Szimyrla Kertmozi was, by far, our favorite Ruin Bar — so many rooms, wild and crazy nonsensical decorations in every space/corner, stickers, graffiti, art and an overall chill environment with countless bars to suite your mood. Had we not signed up for this tour with Eliza, it’s possible we would have missed this can’t miss part of the Budapest experience. Definitely recommend the tour and Eliza!

Wine, history, and excellent tour guide! - Absolutely loved this tour. I ended up being the only one who signed up, so it was just me and the tour guide! Eliz was great, she’s so knowledgeable of the city and taught me so much and was a great photographer! The vibe is definitely more causal and low key and not a pub crawl. The experience focused on the history of the bars and the city, rather than focus around alcohol. I was very pleased with the experience and would do it again!

Fun visit to the ruin bars - Interesting and fun, highly recommend. Eliz was an excellent guide. It was super hot and she even loaned me her fan for the evening.

What a great night! - This event did not feel like a guided tour. It felt like a night out. It was so much fun and a truly enjoyable time. Our guide was so incredibly personable and knowledgeable. I hated to have the evening end. I would do this again with this guide.

Excellent evening adventure - Our tour guide, Ferenc, was a true local with lots of historical knowledge as well as personal insight. We visited 3 bars as well as the Karajan food court, having a local snack and drinks at each. Each ruin bar had a different personality and vibe and Ferenc was on a first-name basis with the bartenders. he encouraged us to order the local drinks- I definitely recommend the Sour Cherry beer! Take this tour-you will be happy you did!
