Beautiful break with small tigers in the urban jungle - The museum is very lovingly decorated. You can learn a lot of new things. A hot drink is included. And now for the most important: The cats were very open-minded. You could (if the cat wanted to) play and cuddle with them. They were all very well groomed and when they no longer felt like it, the cats could easily retreat to a separated area, but a huge plus!!! You could tell the owner that the welfare of her cats is extremely important to her.

Informative but most of all super cute - I loved it. We hadn't prebooked, as we didn't realise that it's highly recommended which ofc in hindsight makes sense but anyways the lady on the door and the lady behind the till were both very friendly and kindly made availability for us to get tickets then. The cats are absolutely adorable and all look in good condition- you can tell the staff put alot of effort into their upkeep. Like all cats, they interact on their own basis and we were given an oppurtinity to give them treats. There are many places for people to sit down and there was enough time for it to not feel rushed. There's also lots of information and was a film on about the history and biology of cats. There were 10 cats on sight.

Catttttttt - Very nice place, cared for in every part, clean and welcoming. It's the cat house! Some cuddly and sociable, others less so. The downside in my opinion, maybe the entrance should be fewer people at a time, there were too many of us. Bought many special gadgets!

Quirky, Feline Fun - The Cat Museum Budapest is like stepping into a quirky cat lover’s dream—a small, funky space filled with cat-themed art, toys, and memorabilia from around the world. It’s a wild mix of oddball charm and genuine affection for the feline species, from ancient Egyptian artifacts to pop art pieces that scream personality. You’ll find everything from cute to downright weird, and somehow, it works. It’s a bit on the small side, which keeps it from being purr-fect, but for cat lovers, it’s a gem worth visiting.

Perfect experience for cat lovers - Lovely change of pace from the other museums in Budapest. We originally wanted to go to the cat cafe but it was closed for renovation. We booked the cat museum instead, the art and displays were lovely. So much to view considering the small premises. Great staff, they were super helpful and friendly. They have drinks available and seating away from the exhibitions. My only criticism is they had taken more bookings at the time we visited than there were cats to pet, some people were struggling to get to interact with the cats. Around halfway through the hour we were given treats for the cats and they all came to us. there are also many toys to play with them all over the place. Lots of information and cat facts everywhere that corresponds to a quiz upstairs, get 80% or better and you can win a free prize. There are also souvenirs available to buy. Overall a fun experience for a faily low cost.

Cat Cafe not Museum! - Firstly, I have to state this is not a Cat Museum - it is a Cat Cafe (as we call it in the UK). On entering you remove your shoes (lockers available if required) or just storage and then hand sanitise. There are two floors with about 10 cats and it is set out really nice and cosy - the cats are beautiful but their interaction with you obviously depends on them and the time of day. We found all except for one asleep!! There are drinks facilities available, a cat quiz and lots of cat memorabilia around. We stayed about half an hour as the cats were sleeping …. Worth a visit if you like cats and all proceeds contribute to their upkeep, reasonably priced and kept us out of the rain for a bit!

Cute but very small - I recently visited the cat museum, and it was a delightful experience! While the museum is on the smaller side, it’s filled with cool cat-themed art and fun facts about our feline friends. The real highlight was getting to pet the adorable cats—each one was a charm and made the visit even more enjoyable. The gift shop is packed with cute items, and there’s a fun digital quiz where you can win a small prize if your score is high enough. The staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive vibe. The museum experience felt a bit short since it’s compact, but the two-hour window for interacting with the cats was perfect. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a cat lover!

Waste of money - As an animal lover, I was excited to visit the cat museum in Budapest. you are only allowed entry at stated times and can stay for 90 minutes. The cats were not friendly or interested in interacting. Very disappointing!

Scam moment - Lovely staff but not sure how this exhibition can justify charging €9 per person. It was crowded and there were barely any cats. Would not recommend. It can’t call itself a museum considering most of its artefacts were clearly picked up from a flea market / shop.
