Constructed in 1918 and decorated with numerous Art Nouveau furnishings, Gellert Spa is famous for its main hall with glass roof, elaborate mosaic walls and detailed stained-glass windows.
Choose from 13 indoor and outdoor pools filled with water from thermal springs. A natural temperature of 170 degrees F (77 Celsius), the thermal water is cooled down to different temperatures at the spa and contains minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are said to be good for your joints! You can also make use of steam chambers, saunas and cold plunge, or dip into the Roman-style swimming pool or outdoor adventure and wave pool.

Great experience - Do it! Lovely experience. Very clean. A little difficult to know where to go at times as some staff did not understand English. However had a great time. Fab choice of thermal pools, sauna and steam rooms. The steam room is unreal! You literally can’t see right in front of you. We had a couples massage too which was bliss. Location is easy to find. Facilities are good although would be helpful to have hair dryers near the cabins.

Wonderful Place - This is a great place to find time to relax on a city break.
Viator provides you with a bar code & we needed a QR code to get in. This held up our entry. We could have got in on the door anyway so not sure it was worth booking in any case.

The Blue Lagoon of Budapest! - Beautiful Roman style thermal spa! Recommend that you arrive at opening time (9:00 AM) in order to truly enjoy the facility before it gets crowded! The temperature in the different pools fluctuate from 36* to 40* and are spacious and comfortable! The check in process was smooth and your best bet is to get a ticket with a cabin that allows you to change in your own private space! We spent 3 hours there and it was more than enough time! If you are in Budapest and don’t visit one of these spas you are missing out on a great experience, Gellért Thermal Spa is clean and beautiful, highly recommend it!

Relaxing - Very relaxing. The spa is huge

A nice way to end our trip in Budapest - Beautiful building and thermal spas were lovely including the cold plunge pool - great surprise when we went outside as thought outdoor area was closed but thermal spa outside was in use and lovely to have a relax in the spa in the autumn sun
Only downside was why do they allow cameras in the spas and also would be nice to have some quiet areas to relax as was a bit noisy

Lovely experience - Beautiful architecture. A lovely building. The 36° outside pool was a treat. Food and drink a bit pricey. Some of the staff a bit miserable.

Gellert spa amazing - Spa was great. Viator wasn't. The spa said we needed a QR code ticket. Ours was a bar code. They had to get supervisor permission to let us in.

Beautiful but overpriced - The baths themselves were beautiful, the building is grand and the architecture of the interior is stunning.
However do I think £70 for 2 is worth it?? Absolutely not, having spent time in each bath, steam and sauna we still struggled to spend more than a few hours here. Any treatments etc are in addition to the charge. It’s definitely in need of some TLC but this is the end of the season so perhaps that is coming in off season.
Would I recommend visiting - yes because you cannot go to Budapest and not visit the thermal baths and we did have a relaxed afternoon in beautiful surrounds- just not value for money!

Really disappointed by... - Really disappointed by this. The pools were so overcrowded it was unpleasant. Cabins too small for 2 to change and dry. Floors of changing area a bit grubby. The bar was so expensive. £16.50 for 2 cans of beer. Such a shame.
