Highlights
- Kató Néni Finomságai Kürtős Liget - Our workshop location is in the beautiful Budapest City Park. We have an indoor area for our workshops. Our local experts will explain how the dough is made, and how to work it. You’ll be walked through the steps of making a traditional Hungarian Chimney Cake (Kürtőskalács), and you’ll learn about all the tricks and tips you must know to make it again at home!
We make 3 small pieces of Kürtőskalács, we’ll also bake them. Once they are ready, our guests can pick between different tastes to roll them into. Usually the simple sugar, the coconut, and the cinnamon.
After the Chimney Cake workshop, you can also pick a cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy some of your own kürtőskalács at the tables in the middle of the beautiful park, where you can also plan visits to the zoo, the Szechenyi thermal bath, and the Hunyadi Castle.

We conduct our workshop at a familial business based right at the heart of Budapest’s City Park. We offer an authentic experience of crafting the traditional Hungarian/Transylvanian Chimney Cake, otherwise known as Kürtőskalács.
Kürtőskalács is a national treasure of Hungary and we are thrilled to share the know-how of creating this uncomplicated dessert with our international visitors.
We invite you to join us to sprinkle some joy into your Budapest adventure through our chimney cake classes! This enjoyable travel experience is designed for every age group!

We meet our guests at Kürtős Liget (Kató Néni Finomságai). The cafe and chimney cake shop are located just on the other side of the street by Budapest Zoo, in Budapest City Park. We kindly ask our guests to arrive 5 minutes before we start! Thank you

Beautifull - this place was so beautiful! The green trees of the park, flowers, peace, and its still in the middle of the city. Also the dining bubble was opened so we made chimney cakes basically in the open air. Fantastic!

Beautiful experience - Thanks so much for this experience to Hungarian Horizons. You guys were fantastic, we loved everything. And thanks for allowing us to get from the shop some pistacchio cream for our chimney cakes. It tasted better!

Fantastic Experience Chimney Cake school at a Superb Location! - My experience at the Cimney Cake School was absolutely delightful! From start to finish, it was a fantastic journey filled with fun and learning. The location nestled within a beautiful park added an extra charm to the whole experience. Our instructor was simply amazing, guiding us with expertise and enthusiasm throughout the class. And oh, the final product - the Chimney Cake we made was hands down the best in Budapest! The combination of crispy dough and delicious toppings left us craving for more. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Budapest. It's a must-do activity that guarantees joy, learning, and of course, mouthwatering treats!

Nice experience - We were so happy to find this workshop still available! Their chimney cake workshop downtown was fully booked for the day we could go, and then we found this one in the park, and realized it’s the same company, so we booked, attended, and loved every second of it. Especially that we learned why exactly the chimney cake is called chimney cake . You’ll see when you make your first one!

awesome! - Great workshop, and we loved that it's in the middle of the park, with transparent walls, so it's basically like you're baking outside. The bubble can become hot from the oven, but we kept the door open, and the ventilator going. It was a lovely experience with the family!

Superb experience with tasty results - What a creative experience, and what a beautiful setting! Making chimney cake in Budapest is a new experience as I understood, but the way they imagined it, inside this bubble, in the middle of the park, it's fabulous! Thank you!

Great time - We loved the chimney cake experience, and the fact that it’s in a transparent iglu in the middle of the city park that’s covered in blossoms now, it was really lovely. An experience we truly recommend, especially if you’re planning to visit the thermal baths nearby.

Great place!! - Good experience for cold days in Budapest. The location is perfect, it’s easy to stop by, do a workshop of chimney cakes, have a coffee, warm up, and then continue visiting the city! Oh, and we could take 3 chimney cakes with us, that was the best part!

10/10! - WOW this was amazing! The workshop is in a bubble, literally, in the city park of Budapest, and we had a view all around to the spa and the towards the zoo. After the workshop, we ordered hot chocolate and set there for a while while we finished 2 of our chimney cakes.
