Ludwig for a Rainy Day! - Really enjoyed our visit here on a rainy day, not far from tram stop probably could be better signed but we found it. Stored coats and umbrella for free, helpful staff and such an impressive building. We found both exhibitions intriguing and good value compared to London prices. Useful where QR codes gave descriptions in English. Really well curated. Small but nice cafe, shame about quite loud awful music as not so relaxing to shelter but would use terrace on a sunny day. All in all a good visit and pleasant way to pass the day avoiding showers.

Brilliant museum! Should be in the guidebooks - My favourite art museum in Budapest out of the few I saw, I really loved the place, so did my mum. I nearly didn't find this place as in my guidebook (Lonely Planet), didn't recommend this place at all, I was surprised they didn't recommend this one in Budapest. Additionally, the work on the display was brilliant, my aim was to find a place that showed off Hungarian contemporary artists and the Ludwig Museum had that, but all seeing some well known ones was great too. As well, the extra show that was on during my visit, The Cuteness Factor, was fantastic and so cute! Would come back and visit it again, very much enjoy a gallery that changes its shows and permanent collection often.

Eclectic, stylish collection - An eclectic exhibition of contemporary art in a sleek and stylish building by the Danube. I highly recommend the permanent collection for an hour's enjoyment.

Amazing place - Amazing place even if you go for the building only. Architecture wise it is just wow and the permanent collection is very interesting (Picasso, Hockney…). We really liked the exhibition as well. All in all, a place not to be missed!

Worth a visit - This is a beautiful spacious gallery and the artwork is curated perfectly. We enjoyed the variety of pieces. It was helpful to find descriptions in both Hungarian and English. The third floor houses the permanent collection which is relatively small. The Picasso's are a joy to see in real life. The cafe is ok. The access is good for people with reduced mobility as there are lifts to all floors. However, they do not have wheelchairs to borrow which would be a great asset for those of us that struggle to make our way round the whole exhibition. There are plenty of sofas though.

Prepare to enter the surreal... - Most everything I saw was unusual, extraordinary and I'll admit, the kind of things I have never seen before. That in itself was worth the visit!

OK to kill some time. Nothing breathtaking. - It's an ok museum. When we went there wasn't much specials hanging in the walls or gracing the floors. There were a few interesting pieces but those can be counted on one hand. Perhaps simply not my cup of tea which can of course simply be the case. The museum itself is a nice building, good lighting (except a smaller hallway with lots of glare in normale glass) and spacious rooms.

What a plot twist 🙂 - Exept for few installations the entire museum seems to lack of any kind of work of art, actually I don’t know what was the worst floor between the first and the last one in terms of what the museum had to offer. We did like some of the colorful ones in the second floor, I’ll attach their picture
