Our Best Evening of the Week We Spent in Budapest! - Wonderful experience touring the market, followed by a good time cooking and making new friends. I have a hard time making Hot Pockets, but Marti made me a real chef for a day! She's a lovely person, a Budapest native who'll tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Hungary as well as cooking. Highly recommended.

Great experience - Lovely evening. My husband and I enjoyed the walk through the market with Marty as she explained the products and history. Going to her kitchen, we made dinner with her assistance. It was wonderful and everyone had a great time. I would definitely recommend this as it was a definite highlight of our trip.

A Great Experience - Marti is a great guide, chef, host and teacher! We had a very informative walk around the Central Market learning about the various Hungarian food traditions. We then went to Marti's and made Chicken Paprikash and mini dumplings under her expert guidance. She treated us to palinka and a plate of Hungarian cured meats and pickled vegetables ( including baby watermelons!) whilst we cooked. Having just got home, we have made it again - with great success 😁. See picture.

Amazing Hungarian Cooking Class with Marti - Our chef Marti was an absolute gem! Her knowledge of cooking techniques as well as Budapest history was so educational. Not only did she provide us with stories of Budapest she told us of her growing up in the countryside with her family and how they grew their own food and how it shaped what she is doing now. The dishes that we cooked with Marti were delicious. While we were nervous at first, Marti welcomed us with open arms and we felt at home with a dear friend. I highly recommend taking any classes that Marti is offering. You will definitely have a great time and learn so much while enjoying making delicious Hungarian delicacies!

Cooking in Budapest - This was one of the highlights from our trip to Budapest. Marta is the best! We cooked Sour Cherry Soup (so freakin good ), Chicken Paprikas, and Gundel Pancakes. Learned a ton. Very hands on. Can’t wait to try the recipes when we get back home. We had great conversations, drinks, and of course, local meats, vegetables, cheeses from the market. Marta really shows how to get immersed into the Hungarian way of life. Worth every minute. Book it! It’s worth it!

Hungarian Market and cooking experience - Marti was an amazing chef who explained all the different areas of the Market, including produce, meat, fish, cheese and desserts. She shared her expertise and recipes for three Hungarian dishes which were most delicious. She was very interesting and spoke very good English. I highly recommend a class with her.

Take this tour/cooking class - you won't regret it! - What a wonderful experience my husband and I had for our first "travel" cooking class!! Our guide/chef, Marti, took us on a tour of the Budapest Central Market (so much to see there!) and then we went to Marti's kitchen to prepare our meal: Sour Cherry Soup, Chicken Paprika with Dumplings and Gundel Pancakes. There were 5 of us for our class and Marti was an excellent hostess and got everyone involved in cooking and socializing. We enjoyed tasting palinka, homemade soft drinks and nibbles. I would absolutely recommend Marti's tour/class to anyone going to Budapest. My husband was a little apprehensive about doing a cooking class, but told me afterwards that he had an absolutely wonderful time!

Highlight of our trip - This was the highlight of our trip. We cannot say enough good things about chef Marti. She was so nice, talented, knowledgeable, and a good teacher. We enjoyed getting to know about her and her family. We had a choice of several menus which she sent to us and we chose our 3 courses. She had everything organized and we cooked it all. The food was amazing! Having our dinner with wine at the conclusion was lovely. Highly, highly recommend. A fabulous experience.
