Szemlo-Hegyi Barlang (Showcave) - Cave Walk is a relaxed way of cave-exploring even for those who suffer from claustrophobia. Budapest is the capital of caves: more than two hundred caves are known under the Buda side of the town, created by the same springs that supply the famous spas. Szemlo-hegyi Cave is the ”underground flower garden” of Budapest because of its floriform mineral concretions: cave corals, calcite plates and gypsum crystals. Spectacular chambers, vast vertical dimensions and fancy „petrified ornaments” characterize this cave. After the first part of our tour, from the top of this cave we can have a break to admire the panorama of the capital.

Palvolgyi Caves - Palvolgyi Cave system is the longest cave system of Hungary. This is a labyrinth of narrow passages and hollow spaces. You will need to be ready to climb some stairs: we will climb more than 400 stairs and a 7 meter long ladder. Besides stalactites and stalagmites, the cave has calcite and barite crystals and calcite plate deposits originating from former hot-water lakes.

Cave Stroll – A journey perfect for those who are less adventurous or have claustrophobia, and no restrictions regarding age. This 2.5-3 hr private exploration takes you into two artificially lit, paved caves. The first resembles an ‘underground garden’ set in Budapest due to its unique mineral formations, including cave corals, calcite plates, and gypsum crystals. The second cave hosts calcite and barite crystals, and layers of calcite from ancient hot-water lakes. You can also observe stalactites and stalagmites here.
