String ensemble concert in St Matthias Church, Buda Castle, Budapest - A live, string ensemble concert in the church is very inspiring. The music helps to better appreciate the architecture and acoustics of this grand building. The better seats are the ones further at the back of the nave. Not only that these tickets are cheaper, the sound spreads wider at the back, more grand to the ears! The programme performed were chosen from familiar Baroque repertoire, very pleasing.

Great starter to Budapest - What an experience! Close up view of the organ, pipes and intricacies of the Basilica; loved it. The organist was so good in explaining the various parts of the organ and introduces each piece eloquently

Organisation more than poor, Cathedrale wonderful! - The organization was horrible...not even one star for this..The five stars ONLY for the Cathedrale. The people of the ticket-counter didn't want to give me a ticket after presenting the voucher and sent me away. No representative from Viator anywhere to be seen. Luckily a guard, who originally wanted to send me Back to the ticket-counter, was so nice to let me in anyway after showing him my voucher and after explaining that the ticket-counter already had turned me down and had sent me to the entrance. The Basilica itself is beautiful, the treasury is worth to visit and you have a great view around the whole city when you go up to the dome. Oh...and there was no 20-minute concert.

Very nice place to visit but detestable welcome from the access controllers. - The packaged ticket is a good choice. You will see a very beautiful religious place + access to a view of the city by elevator then stairs which opens onto a hallway which goes all the way around the dome. Don't miss the organ musical performance at 5 p.m. WITH trumpet solo stunning ! ...it's not just the organ... But be careful, the ladies who control access are prison guards who do not speak English and seek to lay down the law without respecting the terms of your pass (impossible to re-enter if you have left, impossible to access the elevator before 4 p.m. ...).

Tour was not as advertised - First, the time with the organist was excellent. We enjoyed his explanation of his organ and the songs he played. Secondly, we were not offered to go up in the dome or tour the upper portion of the church as advertised. We were told when we exchanged our voucher for our tickets to wait inside and a tour leader would guide us. We went inside the church but only found the tour guide outside. Upon trying to re enter the church we were come entry per ticket. We were denied entry being told there is only entry per ticket. We only received 1/2 of the tour we paid for. I contacted Viator of our lack of full experience we paid for and they simply responded with “there are no refunds”. Poor costumer service.

THERE WAS NO CONCERT - I only gave it a 1 because 0 is not an option. We bought two tickets for an organ concert in the basilica, but as is true for so many experiences on Trip Advisor, it was shockingly difficult to manage (the ‘tickets’ on our phones were not tickets, so we had to walk to a building a block south of the basilica to have our tickets-that-were-not-tickets transformed into tickets). When we delivered our ticket-tickets to the guy at the basilica entrance (standing next to a ‘Christmas Concert’ sign), he let us in and directed us to a four-person elevator, which transported us to an upper floor, where there was long line. But this was not a concert: this was just a view of the city from the top of the basilica! There was no concert—organ or otherwise—there was just a janky stairway to the top of the basilica.
