Beautiful trip with lots of special Things to do - It was a nice trip with many Things to do (monastery, mountains, views, waterfalls, nature, ziplining). The tour guide did a great job. It was a long day (about 14 hours), but it was worth it.

Very good experience - It was all in all a very good experience, our tour guide,Natalia, was great.
She even encouraged my mother to use the zip line with us.
The swim in the black lake was very refreshing, although cold.

Ok tour but I wouldn’t repeat - The tour was good and they brought us to beautiful places but it’s a LOT of driving for one day, especially if u come from Kotor. Also it felt very rushed cos they are trying to fit so much in one day. If you come from Podgorica it’s ok. Also it kind of felt like it was mainly a Russian tour they just sell it on Viator to fill up the spaces so just a heads up. Better if you stay in Durmitor NP to be able to spend more time there and do hiking.

A great day out in nature - This was a brilliant trip and a great way to see some of the nature in Montenegro in a short space of time. It was great to have time at the Black Lake to walk around. The driver and guide were excellent, is was a long bus journey but the guide gave us a lot of interesting information about Montenegro throughout which was a great way to learn more about the country. One small improvement would be to update the intinery which says there will be a dinner with a view of Ostrog Monastery as we didn't do this.

MEDIOCRE - A good intro to Montenegro, in that it does get you away from the beach and out in the countryside.
It makes for a long day (we left at 6:30 in the morning and returned around 20:30).
We spent a lot of time in the bus. Montenegro is mostly made up of mountains and narrow passes, and our driver navigated them well - even when taking phone calls while driving (which we were not so happy about).
Unfortunately there were very few stops and very few photo opportunities. You’re stuck on a bus a lot.
Stops were functional: for cigarette breaks, pee stops and to promote local producers (honey drinks and alcohols).
It might not have been so bad, were it not for the guide… frankly, she was just awful. Very rude. She did not stop babbling, we were desperate for her to stop from time to time to take breath and give our ears and heads a rest. She spoke first in English and then repeated in Russian… but mostly spoke about nothing useful whatsoever.
We stopped for lunch. The man who served us was friendly, spoke impeccable English but the food offer was poor and not even cooked through. The dish was pork and raw… we sent it back.
Also cost €25 for one meal and drinks on top of the tour… so am expensive day.
If you have no other way of getting round the country, this is an okay snapshot, but do not have high expectations or go getting very excited!!

Our Tara Canyon/Black Lake Opinion - This is a good trip to do to see the north part of Montenegro and to get away from the beaches.
We got picked up in Podgorica by the bus. The bus was already full as most people on the tour were already picked up at earlier stops.
The bus first stops at a gas station just outside the city for people to use the restroom and get a small breakfast. Youre then taken to a historic monastery and let out for about 30 minutes. The monastery is beautiful and absolutely amazing. I wish more time was spent here. You’re then hurried back onto the bus and driven into the mountains were the bus makes one more stop at a small “wine” shop on the side of the road where you get 5 minutes to try and buy different local fruit wines. Back on the bus and you’re taken to a mountain lodge for lunch. The food is all handmade and is surprisingly good! You get to stop here for 45 minutes which is about all the time there is to use the restroom and eat. Back on the bus and you’re taken to Tara Canyon where you can zip line and walk across the bridge! Great views and an amazing experience! Loved this part of the trip. After about 30 minutes you’re back on the bus and headed to Black Lake. You get 1.5 hours to walk to the lake, have a quick swim (if you wish) and walk back. If you’re a fast walker, you’ll have about 30 minutes at the lake before you need to walk back to the bus. The walk/hike is beautiful and there are great views all around. The lake itself is amazing as well and I suggest going in for a quick dip. Back on the bus and we were taken back to Podgorica making one quick pit stop on the way back for a 10 minute break.
Overall this is a good way to experience a different part of this beautiful country that is not the coast. The tour is very fast paced and a lot of driving. We felt like there was not a lot of time at each place to learn about it and to experience it other than taking pictures.

A costly excursion - be aware. - We do a tour or excursion of some sort in every country we visit and by far this was the most disappointing one.
We were met in Kotor by a driver (car) not a bus as we had been expecting. No communication to make us aware that this would be happening. At 6.30am myself and my partner then embarked on a horrible car ride with a driver that was constantly scrolling on his phone (something I’m not personally comfortable with).
We finally met the bus and from then on another reviewer below sums it up perfectly. Expensive food that appears to be an organised deal with the company (order separately at the restaurant to the set offers - that’s what a couple did on ours and we wished we had) and rushed visits to each place.
We paid €50+ each for the trip and then it was another €30+ each just to eat and experience the day. You are also clock watching all the time because of the threat of being left behind. Not fun. The views are simply sensational and it would have been nice to be able to relax and enjoy them.
The two main positives from the day - the GORGEOUS views at the National park (simply stunning) and we rescued the injured little dog that we met at the service station/best dessert place ever (it is not) on the way home from our day trip. She is moving over to live with us in the coming months - we can’t wait. So we gained her out of the day.

Unsatisfactory and sobering - is encouraged by great travel reports - Unfortunately, the destinations were rather disappointing and completely devoted to tourism and very unfriendly company

Avoid this company at all costs - We initially booked a separate tour with a different company before coming on holiday, however it got cancelled due to them not being able to get enough people to go, they kept us up to date so fine, whatever. We then found that most tour companies weren't offering this tour due to the season being over.
Therefore, we went a walk and saw the tourist shop, in Old Town Budva. We spoke with a lovely lady who explained everything in detail. She advised it would be a long day, a 06.40 start and around 19.00 finish, but we would see 80% of Montenegro. We would see the Black Lake, the Tara Bridge and a monastery. At the monastery, there was also a "very beautiful waterfall" to see and it's all a must.
My partner and I often travel and always do at least one excursion to see the country we're visiting. A waterfall is one of our favourites, so that closed the deal for us.
We arrived at the bus stop at around 06.30, which was about a 4 minute walk from our hotel. The bus promptly arrived, we showed our tickets and got on. Within about 5 minutes on the bus, the tour guide said "make sure you are not cheap and tip us well". A few things he said came across very rude, however we both believed it was a translation issue, so brushed it off. We stopped at the top of Budva for a photo opportunity, then headed to a cafe for breakfast. We were given around 15 minutes here, to order, wait for food, eat, pay the bill and get back on, so we both missed breakfast as by the time we went to the toilet & had a drink, our time was up and we got back on the bus.
We then headed to the Black Lake and the tour guide walked us for around 20 minutes. He explained that we need to keep an eye on this turning when we were walking back, and if we missed it, the bus would leave without us & they wouldn't find us. He said a few rude things here, like "if you miss it you're stupid" and "if you miss the bus, fine, you pay a few hundred euros to get you back to Budva". The tour guide then paid for our entry tickets with the money we had given him on the bus. We paid €6 each, as requested by him, but the entry fee was €5 for all day. It's only €2 (2 of us) but after paying for the excursion, then paying entry on top, I'm not sure why we were overcharged? Before he bought our tickets, a family who were with us was at the back of the group. He shouted at them "You look like you're 45 years old, but you're walking like you're 75! Act your age". This seemed very uncalled for and nasty. It also didn't feel like it was a joke, given the tone he said it in.
We had 20 minutes around the Black Lake, but we were constantly clock watching and was worried we wouldn't be back in time.
After this, we headed to Tara Bridge. We again got around 20 minutes here, and I preferred this as I could see the bus, and the views were incredible.
We left the bridge and we headed to dinner. The tour guide asked if we wanted chicken, pork, fish or vegan. We arrived and was seated in a lovely restaurant, with great views. Our food came out, and having not eaten all day, I can't describe the disappointment when I saw 2 pieces of grilled chicken and 1 boiled potato cut into quarters on the plate. We couldn't order anything else as the guide said we didn't have time.
While eating, a paying guest like ourselves on another table had an issue with his food and was talking to the guide. The guide screamed "shut the **** up" repeatedly, then got off his chair, approached him and was standing very closely, still screaming at him to shut the **** up. I have never witnessed anything like this on any tour, holiday, or just anywhere before. It was shocking. The couple on our table was ready to get up, as he believed in that moment that it was going to get physical between the tour guide and the guest. The guest was saying "sorry, I'm sorry" but the tour guide would not stop shouting and swearing. He then returned to his seat where he was insulting the man he had shouted at to all of the other paying guests. It's the most uncomfortable dinner I've ever experienced. The bill then came for €38 for our food. We were not happy.
We left here, and he said the next stop was the "best dessert place in Montenegro". After missing breakfast and having an awful dinner, I was very excited to hear this. We arrived about an hour and a half later, and honestly at this point, if it was a petrol station services I would have been overjoyed. We got to a cafe that served hot & cold drinks, however there was no dessert. There was one slice of cake left which someone in the queue had, so there was literally nothing. One coke cost €4, the highest price we've paid in Montenegro so far.
We then headed back, and the tour guide said we may see a lake, but we might not because it may be dark when we get there. We did arrive when it was still light enough to see, he told us we had 5 minutes. After getting off the bus, he started whistling us all and shouting at us to get on the bus. I don't even have a picture of this lake due to getting off, turning around and getting on the bus again.
I feel this tour company have deals with the food venues you stop at, as when you arrive, the tour guide immediately gets out and goes for a smoke with the staff in the shops, and everything is so over priced.
We then arrived home and got off the bus. The tour guide then started whistling at us and shouting us, we are assuming this was for a tip as for the first time ever, we didn't leave one but we chose to ignore and keep walking.
We have both never felt more deflated after this tour. We didn't see the monastery or the waterfall, which was the selling point to us. We messaged the company on WhatsApp (they sent us our tickets via WhatsApp so we had her number) and explained what had happened, in detail. This message was read and ignored.
We returned to the shop today and verbally communicated everything. Initially she laughed in our faces, and said she didn't believe it. After spending maybe half an hour there, we eventually got a refund of €50. She did apologise and did try and rectify it as much as she could.
I would 100% recommend not to do this trip with this company. This excursion has a lot of potential and is beautiful, however the company comes across as cowboys.
After our experience, we have read some reviews and they are similar. Lesson learned, always do your research beforehand!!

Cancelled my trip the night before. - The company texted me to cancel at 4:30pm the day before the trip. They did offer an alternate but I was heading back home after the trip, so that was not an option for me. This was also meant to be a full day activity so I struggled to find alternate options for my last day in Montenegro. It was definitely inconsiderate for the company to cancel on such short notice when they require at least 24 hours for customers to cancel.
