Highlights
  • Buenos Aires - Begin your 9-hour tour with a drive from your hotel in Buenos Aires to the village of San Antonio de Areco. Enjoy views of the pampas en route and listen to commentary about the area from your guide.
  • Museo Draghi - Paradores Draghi is the ideal corner for those who enjoy the cultural attractions offered by a place. There you will access a tour through the sumptuous space where you can see a vast collection of pieces of rural goldsmithing of the nineteenth century, which reveals the mysteries of a period of national identity consecration of the figure of the Gaucho as a main character of that time.

In Paradores Draghi begin your journey through history not only as a spectator, but also as a participant in the process of making exclusive goldsmith pieces that take shape through the hands of artisans recreating the techniques of traditional goldsmithing as their founder, Juan José Draghi, did in the 60s.

  • Parroquia San Antonio de Padua - Located on Segundo Sombra Street, between Alsina and Arrellano. Don José Ruiz de Arellano founded the first oratory in the center of his stay. The foundation of this oratory was very important for the creation of the town. In the years 1720 and 1728, the first chapel was built, it was located a little more to the right than the current one. The foundation stone of the present church was placed on February 7, 1869 and was buried under the central entrance door. Inside it was placed a lead box containing the original records written on parchment, newspapers of the day, medals and coins of the time.
  • Boliche de Bessonart Bar - At the corner of Don Segundo Sombra and Zapiola streets, a peaked house rises from its peeling walls. This is the grocery & drinks store where peasants and country people who came to town to provide themselves and do errands to the cereal house, the store, the doctor, the bank, used to meet. Don Segundo Ramírez, the gaucho who was later a character in the novel by Ricardo Güiraldes, used to stop here. Nowadays, it continues to be a meeting place and has a long history of typical people from the countryside.
  • San Antonio de Areco - Make your way to the Estancia. At this place, you will have a chance to take rides on horses or go for a ride in a carriage while enjoying some traditional cold cuts, cheeses and beverages. Then, you will enjoy a typical Argentinian barbeque of the finest meats. While you have dessert, you will be able to see a folklore show followed by a demonstration of gaucho skills.

Gaucho Experience Review - Argentina Ranch - Our Gaucho Experience at a ranch in Argentina was nothing short of spectacular. Our tour guide, Franco, was attentive, ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout the day. He provided an excellent explanation of the ranch, sharing insights into the culture and lifestyle of the gauchos. The ranch itself was stunning, a true Argentinian farm with extensive acres of land, cattle and horses. Visiting during the off-peak season did not diminish the beauty and charm of the experience. The horseback ride was delightful, with the tame and well-cared-for horses adding to the enjoyment. The food on this tour was absolutely delicious. We were treated to an array of dishes, including empanadas, cold drinks, Malbec wine and a massive asado feast with plenty of salad. Make sure to come with an appetite because there is more than enough food to go around. The live music was a wonderful addition and the Doma India horse training demonstration was truly incredible. The bond between the gaucho and their horse was evident and heartwarming to witness. Overall, it was an outstanding experience that I highly recommend. Franco is an excellent guide who not only knows everything about the ranch but also provides great insights about Buenos Aires in general.

Great Day Tour close to Buenos Aires - Very nice tour and we got to see all we wanted. Our guide (Stella) was amazing and gave us plenty of information about San Antonio museum, the stables and Buenos Aires. We first started with the San Antonio museum before heading to the stables. There, we were offered delicious empandas and had a 20 minute horse ride. The lunch was also nice with lots of meat options. However, we felt that it took a long time (almost 2 hours) before enjoying the dance show (about 30 minutes).

Unforgettable. A Must do experience! - This was an amazing experience. Our tour guide Mauricio was exceptional! He took us through a whole experience across the San Antonio de Areco town. We visited the Plaza, Catedral, Gaucho Museum, learned about the process of working on the silver from the welders themselves, visited awesome local shops were they make delicious chocolate products and others local cheeses and sausages/ salamis. Wow! I was impressed with the quality of the products not only food , but the Gaucho cloth. The people of the town were amazing as well, very warm and attentive. Later at the Estancia (Gaucho Ranch) we went into horse riding, which was very comfortable and peaceful . The ride was beautiful. After that we ate delicious lunch prepared in wood. It finished with a show with a Gaucho band where they showed us how to dance. Espectacular! On top of that a Gaucho ended with a presentation with a horse that was so sublime. It was a poetry with a Gaucho and a horse on stage. Can’t describe the beauty of it. This was definitely beyond expectations. If you come here, you can’t miss this experience.

Refreshing break from the city - We loved our Gaucho Day tour! Our guide Sofia made the ride to and from the estancia entertaining and highly informative. Everyone at El Ombú was very hospitable and welcoming. My wife and I loved joining in the cultural performances, dancing along with the family and other members of our tour. My personal favorite part was the horseback riding! I cannot recommend this tour enough, especially to anyone like us who might be looking for a brief break from the hustle and bustle of the city during their visit to Buenos Aires.

A Great Tour - This tour was so much fun for my family and me. I wavered a bit about whether to do it because I wasn’t sure I wanted to leave Buenos Aires, and it was not cheap. But I am so glad we did not miss this. The tour was a very nice pace. We visited a small town on the way to the ranch. When we got to the ranch, we had a snack of empanadas and rode horses. We then had a really nice lunch and then a show (music, learning to dance, and demonstration of how to tame horses) from the gauchos on the ranch. Our tour guide Marcelo was excellent - I can’t say enough good things about him. The van we rode in was spacious and comfortable. It was nice to see something relatively close to the city but so different in every way. Highly recommended.

Very short time on the horses - We expected a longer time and faster pace for the horseback riding. It was only 20 minutes and very slow. The people were amazing and the food was wonderful.

Nice day, but without proper riding - A beautiful farm, the staff were very friendly, the food and wines were great. Also our driver and our guide Carlina were very friendly and competent. The gauchos' dance performance was good. Riding took place for 10 minutes in a fenced meadow. If you don’t value horseback riding, spend a nice day here. Who, like me, is a horse connoisseur pays a lot of money for a great lunch with entertainment and nice location.
