Mate is a traditional South American herbal drink, rich in caffeine, enjoyed daily by locals but often elusive for tourists. It’s not typically available in bars, restaurants, or cafés, making this a unique opportunity!
You’ll leave with the taste of mate, a hand-painted souvenir, cultural insights, and the joy of sharing a memorable moment with friends and family.
- Travelers can park their bicycle or skateboard inside.
- There is a designated place to smoke.
- To access the building there is a 30 steps stair.
- Babies from 0 to 3 can come free of charges but they can’t participate in the activity.

Great experience - Jazz was great! We had a excellent time learning about mate and painting our mate cups! Mahalo for teaching us about Argentine culture.

So much fun! - We had a great time at this experience with Jaz! Jaz was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned about mate and were able to taste it. My favorite part was painting the cups! Jaz has recommendations for what to paint, but is also very encouraging if you want to paint your own thing. I love that we have something to take home from the experience, and it isn't big so it will pack well!

Nice experience - Jazmin’s mate tasting and paint workshop has a really nice, authentic atmosphere. The focus on one mate makes the experience feel intentional and unrushed, with enough context to understand the ritual properly. The painting part is relaxed and welcoming, gives you space to enjoy the process. Jazmin creates a warm, genuine environment that makes you feel comfortable from the start. You leave feeling calm, inspired, and with a personal piece you actually enjoyed creating.

Worth it!!! - What a lovely way to spend an afternoon in Buenos Aires… Jazmin was kind and informative. She shared the background of mate as well as the ins and outs about drinking yerba mate today along with a variety of yummy pastries. She is a local artist and was willing to share her experience. It was fun and relaxing to paint my own mate cup as well as talk to and ask questions about BA. Now I know what to look for in a mate cup and Yerba mate after spending time with Jazmin - so worth it!!!
When I travel, I want to have experiences, not just check off what have seen. If you are like me, do not hesitate to sign up!

Jaz was Excellent! - Amazing experience. I loved learning about the history and cultural traditions of Mate all while painting my own mate cup and enjoying delicious pastries. The location was fantastic as well. The house was architecturally beautiful and the colorful mosaic tiles got the creative vibe started. Jaz was an excellent host and knowledgeable about everything mate and art. Her natural artistic ability inspired my own painting. Afterwards a short walk into the heart of San Telmo offered a nice glass of Argentinian wine and good people watching while taking in this beautiful city and people. All in all a five star experience with Jaz!

Recomendado 100%!!! Maravillosa Experiencia! - Somos de Puerto Rico que viajamos a Argentina para un reencuentro familiar y decidimos vivir la experiencia de tomar mate. Encontramos esta actividad maravillosa y pudimos reservarla rápidamente. La anfitriona fue muy amable, nos explicó la historia del mate, lo probamos y también pintamos nuestro propio mate. Fue una experiencia única y enriquecedora que recomendamos al 100%.
We are from Puerto Rico who traveled to Argentina for a family reunion and decided to experience mate. We found this amazing activity and were able to book it quickly. The host was very kind, explained the history of mate, let us try it, and guided us in painting our own mate cup. It was a unique and enriching experience that we highly recommend.

Amazing and unique way to experience a huge part of the culture! - Amazing experience! Lots of information about mate and the area in general! A wonderful way to experience mate, especially because it’s not something you find in restaurants. Would recommend to anyone coming to Argentina!

Highly recommend - We had a little obstacle to start the session. The building where we were supposed to have the session has a power outage. Jaz decided to do a special picnic at Lago de Palermo instead. It turned out to be surprisingly fun. Beautiful weather, I loved sipping my mate outdoors in nature , and let my creativity flows. Jaz brought some tasty treats and lots of art supplies. I highly recommend this to those who enjoy art, and mingle with locals over mate.
