Visitors can stroll around, take photos at each attraction, and enjoy a coffee, ice cream, or even a beer at the local cafes, ice cream shops, and bars, making this one of the most beautiful spots in Buenos Aires.
- Basilica de Nuestra Senora Del Pilar - Located in Recoleta, this basilica was built in 1732. Originally part of the Recoletos Franciscan convent, it has been a city parish since the 19th century and is the second oldest church in Buenos Aires.
- Cementerio de la Recoleta - One of the city’s top tourist spots, this cemetery is renowned for its grand mausoleums and vaults adorned with marble and sculptures. It reflects the era when Argentina was an emerging economic power in the late 19th century, with wealthy families building magnificent tombs here. Many of these structures are the work of notable architects, and over 90 have been declared National Historic Monuments. The cemetery itself has been a National Historical Museum since 1946.
- Floralis Generica - This metal sculpture, located in Plaza de las Naciones Unidas, was donated by Argentine architect Eduardo Catalano. Set in a four-hectare park with tree-lined paths, the sculpture sits above a reflecting pool that enhances its aesthetic appeal. The flower, made of stainless steel with an aluminum and reinforced concrete skeleton, weighs 18 tons and stands 23 meters high, with six petals reaching towards the sky.
- Facultad de Derecho - Universidad de Buenos Aires - The Faculty of Law is one of the thirteen faculties of the University of Buenos Aires. It is highly regarded, having produced 16 Argentine Presidents and one Nobel Prize winner.
- Bosques de Palermo - Also known as Tres de Febrero Park, the Palermo Woods are a collection of parks famous for their groves, lakes, and rose garden. They are the city’s most popular green space, designed with the help of landscaper Carlos Thays.
- Jardin Japones - Built in 1967 with the support of the Japanese Community, this garden commemorates the first visit to Argentina by a member of the Japanese Imperial Family, Crown Prince Akihito and Princess Michiko. It symbolizes the relationship between Argentina and Japan and was donated to the city by the Japanese Community through the Embassy of Japan.
- Planetario Galileo Galilei - Opened on June 13, 1967, this planetarium has undergone significant renovations, notably in 2011 and 2017. It aims to promote astronomical science through educational shows. The entrance features three metallic meteorites found in Argentina, and its 20-meter dome can display up to 8,900 stars, constellations, and nebulae.
- Rosedal De Palermo - The Palermo Rose Garden, or Paseo del Rosedal, is a traditional park in Buenos Aires. Spanning 3.4 hectares, it boasts 18,000 rose bushes and numerous artworks, including 26 busts of poets and writers, a Greek bridge, and an Andalusian patio.
- El Ateneo Grand Splendid - This bookstore in Recoleta is housed in the former Grand Splendid theater, retaining its original architecture while functioning as a bookstore. In 2008, The Guardian named it the second most beautiful bookstore in the world, and in 2019, National Geographic declared it the most beautiful.
- Avenida 9 De Julio - One of Buenos Aires’ main thoroughfares, this avenue stretches about three kilometers through the city center, linking major transport hubs. Known for the Obelisk at its midpoint, it is considered the widest avenue in the world at 140 meters. It hosts large events and was the site of the largest public gathering in the city’s history during the 2022 World Cup victory celebrations.
- Obelisco - The Obelisk of Buenos Aires is a historic monument and city icon, built in 1936 to mark the fourth centenary of Buenos Aires’ first foundation. Standing 67.5 meters tall, it is currently being renovated to allow visitors to climb to the top for panoramic views.
- Teatro Colon - This opera house in Buenos Aires is renowned for its size, acoustics, and history, making it one of the world’s top opera venues. A survey by acoustics expert Leo Beranek ranked its hall as having the best acoustics for opera and the second best for concerts globally.
- Plaza de Mayo - Located in front of the Casa Rosada, this square was created in 1884 by merging Plaza de la Victoria and Plaza del Fuerte. It sits on the site of Buenos Aires’ second foundation in 1580.
- Casa Rosada - The Casa Rosada is the executive office of the Argentine President, located in the historic city center. Known for its pink color, it is one of Buenos Aires’ most iconic buildings and houses the Government House Museum. It was declared a National Historic Monument in 1942.
- Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral - The main Catholic church in Argentina, this cathedral also features a museum dedicated to the Pope, showcasing items from his 15 years of pastoral work in the city.
- Museo Nacional del Cabildo de Buenos Aires y de la Revolucion de Mayo - Built in 1580, the Buenos Aires City Hall has been modified over the years. Initially made of adobe with a thatched roof, it was later rebuilt with tiles, a balcony, and towers. It was demolished in 1725 and rebuilt in its current form. Now a museum, it displays historical artifacts.
- Avenida de Mayo - This historic boulevard in Monserrat was Buenos Aires’ first and South America’s first avenue. Connecting Plaza de Mayo and Plaza del Congreso, it was inaugurated on July 9, 1894, to serve as a city showcase and a green space for residents.
- Cafe Tortoni - Located at 825 Avenida de Mayo, this historic café is a cultural and tourist landmark. Named after a famous Parisian café, it has been a symbol of Avenida de Mayo’s traditional spirit for nearly a century and was home to Buenos Aires’ most famous literary club.

- Caminito - This alley, museum, and cultural site in La Boca inspired the famous tango “Caminito.” It is a significant cultural landmark in Buenos Aires.
