Life changing - I had the opportunity to go on a trip specifically to visit these incredible women and mine and my daughter's life was changed forever. They were so warm and inviting, and willing to invite us into their homes. We loved every second. You'll love making jewelry with then or even just getting to know them.

Life-changing experience! - Visiting Amaani Co. is life-changing. It was such a privilege to visit their workshop and have opportunity to step into their world and actually work side by side with these beautiful Ugandan artisans, to learn from them, to share ideas and experiences (about parenting, balancing work and family, and so much more) together. We laughed. We cried. We danced. We shared. These Ugandan women are resilient, real, hopeful, honest, hard-working, and impassioned about building a better world. They are dedicated to their craft and so willing to patiently share how they create the jewelry and let you take part! They open their hearts and their workshop to their guests, and they have inspired me in so many ways. I left Africa and my time with them forever changed. I'm a better mother, a better friend, and a better human having met them and been able to learn from them. Knowing them and having met them has changed my perspective on so many levels. One of my goals is to one day return with my daughters to visit my Ugandan "sisters." If you are looking for an experience that will open your heart and your mind to the humanity and beauty of what it means to be resilient and to cultivate a network of truly a supportive and collaborative tribe of women -- take opportunity to visit Amaani.

Jewelry and Laughter - I can't help but smile when I think about working alongside the women of the Ammani Co. They are such an amazing group of women who take pride in their work, are shaping their community, and bring light to the world as they sing, dance, and laugh their way through their lives. You will not want to miss the chance to make beautiful jewelry and connect with these inspiring women while you're in Uganda.

Wonderful Women!! - I will be forever grateful for the time and experiences I shared with the women of Amaani! These women are so loving and willing to share, and love learning from those they come in contact with! One experience I remember getting to help sew together the bags they sell jewelry in, and I still use those bags to store jewelry that they made with such love and other jewelry as I travel! It’s like getting to take a piece of them with me where ever I go. I learned so much about love and joy from these strong and courageous women. You cannot be among them and not be changed forever! It is an experience that I would recommend to anyone!

Real connection - In my short time in Uganda, I wanted an experience where I could really connect with local women- and this was just the thing. Rather than the patronizing volunteerism that generally characterizes westerners' interactions with locals, this was an authentic experience where I got to learn a craft that these talented women seem to genuinely enjoy sharing and teaching about. My tour guide Naome was excellent, and answered all of my random questions. And I came away with a cute bracelet to remember the experience! Highly recommend. This was my most memorable experience from my trip.

Absolutely incredible experience!! - It was such an incredible experience meeting and working side-by-side with the incredible women of Amaani Co. They were so very welcoming and excited to share their craft with us. It was the perfect way to break up our journey from Entebbe to Jinja and was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip! Plus their jewelry was higher quality and better looking than what we saw in souvenir shops. Don't miss out on this experience!!

A must stop on the way to jinja - Just off the jinja Kampala road is this amazing workshop where you can make, buy jewelry, or just experience the program Amaani has been running for the past decade. It was a highlight of my trip!

A beautiful, fun place to learn from artisans - Amani Collective is such a fun place to be - learning from the MOST FUN Ugandan women who are so good at what they do was delightful. I think it was so fun because they’re all so close to each other and then they bring you in with a welcome song and a determination to make you as good at making jewelry as they are (spoiler alert: you won’t get very good). There’s some fun and hip jewelry for sale, too. This is a must stop on the way from Kampala to Jinja (and it’s so easy to get to), just stop along the highway by the gas station to get cold drinks, then walk 20 meters and you’re there!

A Personable, Beautiful, Ugandan Experience - My time spent at Amaani Women's Collective was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. When you go on an Amaani workshop tour, you get an intimate interaction with twenty amazing, lovely, resilient Ugandan women who are full of life. You will have the funnest time - they sing and dance for you, and it is the most exhilarating experience. And then they share their talents with you, show the beautiful jewelry and crafts they have made, and teach you how to do it, too. You leave not only with new jewelry to show that you made, but also new friends, and a special experience that will stay in your heart for a long time. You can also leave knowing you helped support twenty creative and hard-working artisans, and their children to have a better present and future. My heart has been so touched by the women I met here; they have changed my outlook and my life for the better. I can't recommend visiting here enough.
