Additional Information

Experience a taste of nomadic living and discover the 16th largest desert in the world, Kyzylkum, with a stay at a Yurt camp during this tour. You will also visit the historical town of Nurata, nestled in the foothills of the vast Nuratau Mountains, which extend for hundreds of kilometers from Jizzakh and Barren Steppe towards Navoi and the Kyzylkum desert. As per popular folklore, the founding of this city and its name is attributed to the fort, Nur, established by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC. Additionally, you will go through the Sarmysh-say tract, an area in Central Asia well-known for its over 10,000 petroglyphs dating back to the Stone and Bronze Ages, depicting animals like deer and goats in a style reminiscent of the Scythian tribes’ art circle (early Iron IX-II cent. BC). Lastly, you will visit Aydarkul Lake, a stunning natural wonder located in the midst of the desert.
