- Matobo National Park - The Matopos - Excursions depart from Bulawayo at 8.30am heading towards the renowned Matobo Hills.\n\nThe site is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage location and is celebrated for its breathtaking vistas featuring distinctive rock formations that seem to defy gravity, immense granite domes, hidden valleys, mysterious caves, sparse vegetation, and stretches of open savannah.\n\nThe Matobo Hills provide exceptional wildlife viewing experiences through guided walking safaris. Participants will engage in a condensed walking safari, offering the chance to track and capture images of rhinos in an intimate and unprecedented manner. While in search of these magnificent creatures, guests might also encounter various other wildlife species. This is a Rhino intensive tour and will be one to remember! Our local guides have lived and worked in the area for many years and have developed an in-depth knowledge of the habits and hangouts of these magnificent animals.
Whilst the main focus of this tour will be to find and photograph Rhino in the Matobo Hills during you will be able to enjoy a little of all the best things that the Matobo Hills has to offer! Sweeping views of unique landscapes, possibly some ancient rock art and for the more adventurous explorers, there is the opportunity to indulge in some light rock climbing and bouldering where you will be rewarded with some magnificent views of the awe-inspiring countryside with its iconic balancing rocks.
