Small Group Sekempul Waterfall Jungle Trek with Lunch - We had a terrific time on this tour. We were picked up from our hotel and driven three hours to Sekempul where we were given breakfast by a delightful Balinese family. After breakfast we were guided to the waterfall by the daughter of the family. It was a good path down to the bottom on the waterfall though quite a steep descent in places down steps with a handrail. The waterfall is spectacular and well worth the long drive to get there. We enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool under the waterfall. Climbing back up was again on a paved path but with lots of steps. Back with the Balinese family, we were given cool towels to refresh ourselves and invited to help cook a traditional Balinese meal for lunch. All fresh, home grown ingredients made it a delicious meal. Reluctantly we had to leave our new friends for the return drive to our hotel in Kuta, stopping on the way for a tea and coffee tasting at a coffee plantation. We thoroughly recommend this tour as a very enjoyable and memorable experience.

Highlight of our trip to Bali - I would highly recommend this trek to anyone who is visiting Bali. It is an absolute must. We were driven up to the Sekumpul area and was greeted by Gede who was our tour guide and also warmly welcomed us to his home nearby where we met the rest of his family. They prepared us a traditional indonesian breakfast with banana and rice and which was delicious and then after some tea and coffee set off for the trek in the morning. Gede our guide was very informative and showed us all the different trees and plants like jackfruit, mangosteen, cacao and coffee plants as well which was different. As we made our way closer there was a spectacular view of a few of the waterfalls from top with some of them over 100m high! Because we went during a relatively quiet period it was only me and my girlfriend on the tour and he was very accomodating and took many photos of us and carried our backpack for the trek too which wasn't required but was appreciated. We headed down to the base of the waterfalls and marvelled as the sun shone through one of the waterfalls and relaxed there for a while and moved onto the main 3 waterfalls which was a sight to see. I went in for a swim and tried to get as close to the waterfalls as possible and it was strong and the spray was powerful and has to be experienced. I left grinning ear to ear as we went onto the other waterfalls which were also beautiful in their own ways too. After visiting all the waterfalls we went back to Gede's house for lunch which his wife started already cooking and the best part was they invited us into their cooking shed where we helped them prepare their food such as corn fritatas, chicken lemongrass and chilli and a chicken soup and was great insight and felt the generosity of all of them there. It was also magical to be eating amongst the chickens and cats running around, and their own pig too! As a bonus we got to try the Luwak coffee where the Luwak animal eats the coffee beans and poos them out and is a delicacy. I wasn't the hugest fan of it however gave it a shot. A highly recommended tour!

Our car driver was 45 minutes late... -
Our car driver was 45 minutes late picking us up from the hotel which was very frustrating given the 05:00am start he was also unfamiliar with the programme for the day and got lost when we got to the destination. Despite this we are giving a five star review because the rest of the trip was amazing.

Our guide Gede met us in the car park and we walked the short distance to his house for breakfast red rice porridge and banana fritters with home grown, home roasted and home made balinese coffee. After breakfast we set off to walk to the bottom of the falls, we couldn't visit the rice paddies because they rain had made the paths dangerous. Along the way Gede and his Daughter pointed out all sorts of things being grown coffee, spices, durian fruit, and many other things, we descended the 350 steps pausing to look at the view and being warned and helped over slippery ground. The views were incredible and the experience amazing. After the climb back we ate lunch with Gede and learned a little more about his home, his family and the area they live and work in. Lunch was traditional Balinese food but with no hot spices it was very very tasty, but if you like spicy food please let them know at the start of the walk as then lunch could be spicier.

This is highly recommended and will give a great overview of Balinese life as well as views of the island you may not otherwise get.

The waterfalls and our guide to the... -
The waterfalls and our guide to the waterfalls was fantastic. They welcomed us into their home and we helped prepare traditional Balinese food. Wonderful! Unfortunately nothing else on the itinerary was completed and not sure whether it was due to the rain or the lack of interest of our driver.
