Nice Travel by Cable Car - Enjoy Bursa panoramic look during the trip. Enjoy a local lunch, and ascend to Mt. Uludag, the ancient Olympus, by cable car to take on the scenery. Other activities include a silk market and covered bazaar. It was a good experience.

Trip from Bursa to Istanbul - Going to Bursa from Istanbul on your own is very easy. Do not rely on tour companies. They have to pick up the people from different hotels from Istanbul, and it can ruin your day. Here are the steps. 1). From hotel, tell the taxi driver to take you to (IDO for BURSA). IDO is a ferry company, which provides ferry service from Istanbul to Bursa. Remember IDO is different ferry stations, Just tell the driver to take you to (IDO FOR BURSA). 2). Trip to Bursa from Istanbul is around 1 hour 40 minutes. 3). Reach IDO ferry station by 9:00 a.m. or even early if possible. I arrived around 9:15 a.m., and took the ride for 10:00 a.m. For return ticket, buy 6 p.m. business class ticket in advance. 4). To enjoy the ride, take the business class ticket, which is around 55 lira one way. If business class is not available, take economy class (Lira 40) from Istanbul to Bursa and business class from Bursa to Istanbul. 5). Once you reach Bursa, take a taxi if you are a group of five or more. It cost 100 lira to reach teleferik cable in Bursa. Make sure to finalize the fare before riding in taxi. 6). Buy teleferik cable ticket. it cost 67 lira per person. No need to buy fast track ticket. 7). Once you come back from teleferik cable ride, take a taxi to Kaza Han. Taxi will cost around lira 20 from teleferik to kaza han. Do not get in to trap for taxi driver scams of showing some more interesting places or restaurants. There are lot of restaurants in kaza Han. In Kaza Han you can buy silk shawls + Bursa Grand bazare + ulu camii (Old Masjid). etc. 8). Leave Koza Han latest by 4:30 p.m. for IDO ferry station. It will cost around 80 lira. Once again make sure to settle fare in advance.

Bursa and Mt Uludag tour - The experience on Mt Uludag was epic. Loved playing in the snow. The journey from istanbul to Bursa was long though, but all in all a great experience. Only downside was that the guide didn't speak much English while travelling to Bursa when passing through tourist attractions. Many times we had already passed the attraction and it was too late to tell us in English what that attraction was. So we missed out. The ferry ride was also amazing. It's something that we don't get to experience here in SA. I'm glad that I did this tour and will recommend it to anyone who is thinking about taking this tour.

worst day trip ever for us - For us the tour was a disaster. The tour was in two languages, the guide was poor in english and he explained things in the other language for 2 min and in english for 20 sec. We went to Bursa but did not go to any tombs of the Ottoman kings or any historic mosques. We spent time doing cable car as if they do not exist in the USA or rest of the world. Rest of the time was spent them taking us to sweet shops and spice shops of their choice as if there are no shops in Istanbul or the rest of the Turkey. What a waste of a whole day.

Worst day trip - It's a complete waste of time and money. Caution, long review ahead, you can jump at the end to the conclusion. This is how the trip was for me: - pick up at the hotel was scheduled at 8:30, ended up on the 1st bus at 8:50 (fair in my opinion giving the fact that there are a lot of hotels) - the 1st bus left us at a pickup point for all types of 1 day trips. There, the organizaton was complety haotic, ended up on 2 different buses until finally on the right bus, heading to Bursa. Departure somewhere around 10. - the guide (from Insider Travel - Yossuf, i think i spelled his name correct) spoke mostly in turkish, his english was very bad close to basic level - after the trip with the fairy, we arrived in Bursa and passed right by it, to head toward the mountain - we stopped for about 45 min at a local jam shop, where the guide had "connections", thinking you will buy stuff from there - afterward we stopped for the barbecue lunch. The portions were small and the food not good - on the cablecarts, there are just 2, and just one is included, and for the other one what a surprise, you have to pay (40 lira) - after wasting time close to a couple of hours we head back towards Bursa - of course, there was another stop on the way, at a honey store, again where the guide had "connections" - after 45min of browsing through the honey store, we visited a 610 year old tree - finally, we arrived at Bursa for sightseing at 18:45 (waaay to late), to see the Green Mosque, Green Market and Silk market in just 45min - when booking the trip, we were told that we will arrive back in Istanbul at 21:00. As you can see we were waaay out of schedule due to the long stops at stupid shops for travellers to spend their money - after leaving Bursa, i though that we will head directly towards Istanbul given the late hour. Wrong, we stopped at another "connections" stop for turkish delight, wasting again time for about 45min - the guide, when he finally "noticed" the late hour (i think this was actually their real schedule), he propose to not the fairy back which it was included in trip price, but to take the bridge to arrive 1 hour early, which was not free, spending an additional 5 lira per person, from which i think the guide and the bus driver took their baksis - so we took the bridge route and arrived in Istanbul very late, at 23:30 in the evening, with a total sighting time for the entire day close to 1 hour. To sum up: too much time in local shops to buy stuff that you find everywhere in Istanbul, there are just 2 cablecarts and just one is free (other one is 40 lira). For an entire day, sightings was just 1 hour and we arrived very late at 23:30. The worst 1 day trip i have ever had.

Avoid this tour - There isn't anything positive to say about this tour. We were the only English speakers and the guide who spoke English provided only minimul information. The first place we stopped was a tourist gift shop. We were told we would be there for 45 minutes. We were each given a card to show when we made a purchase. Presumably it was to make sure the shop gave the correct financial kick-back. The delay meant we got there at the start of the call to prayer and could go into the mosque. We had yet another shopping stop where we were give a card again to show when we made a purchase. I could go on about the numerous stops that simply dragged out a disaterous day but I will spare you all the details. Didn't get back to the hotel until about 10 pm.

Keep looking!
1. The tour was... -
Keep looking!
1. The tour was simply not as advertised - did not arrive in Bursa itself until after 6 pm, never visited the Green Mosque, the Green Mausoleum or the silk market. While we did go to what might be described as a 'covered bazaar', by the time we arrived most places were closed. We did however stop at a number of 'arranged shopping' locations, where it was clear arrangements had been made with the 'guide' and where quality was poor.
2. The guide provided little to no information - really what was shared about either Mount Uludag and the city of Bursa could fit on a napkin. For example, the word 'Olympus' was not in fact mentioned...
3. The journey itself was uncomfortable - in very cold temperatures, the majority of the group spent over an hour sitting in an unheated bus waiting. Incredibly, there was between 8 am and 11pm one 'bathroom stop' - where unfortunately there was no working toilet. In Turkey, this is absurd.
4. The tour was not adjusted in anyway in light of a the cable car being broken for over a week b record snowfalls which made the drive up and subsequently down in the dark the mountain feel very unsafe a feeling strengthened by the obvious relief of the guide and driver when we made it!
5. Both the guide and the driver spent vast majority of their time on their telephones - including while driving.
