Highlights
  • Haedong Yonggungsa - Perched on the rocky coastline of Busan, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a rare and picturesque Buddhist temple that offers stunning ocean views. Founded in 1376 during the Goryeo Dynasty, the temple is unique in its coastal setting, as most Korean temples are typically located in the mountains.\n\nAs you approach the temple, you’ll pass through a row of stone statues known as the Twelve Zodiac Guardians before reaching the main temple grounds. The temple complex is made up of several beautiful structures, including the main sanctuary, Daeungjeon Hall, and a 3 story pagoda. Each building features vibrant colors and intricate carvings, adding to the temple’s overall charm.\n\nVisitors can take in the breathtaking views of the East Sea from various vantage points within the temple complex. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the serene atmosphere make Haedong Yonggungsa Temple a popular destination for those seeking peace and tranquility.
