We begin our journey by heading towards the Slanic Salt Mine. Set amidst an enchanting landscape, this salt mine first welcomed visitors in 1938. To get there, we’ll travel 400 meters below the surface. Due to the unique microclimate inside, it’s a cherished spot for locals and tourists alike.

With a stable temperature not exceeding 54 degrees Fahrenheit (12 degrees Celsius), it serves as a perfect retreat during the balmy summer months. Our itinerary then takes us to a rare and somewhat peculiar destination: the mud volcanoes. Standing only a few meters high, these miniature volcanoes owe their existence to an unusual fusion of water and natural gases, forming a terrain reminiscent of the lunar landscape.

Next, we’ll visit the famous Ciolanu Monastery, renowned for its late 19th-century icons created by the esteemed artist Tatarascu.
