Highlights
  • Charlottetown - Our captain will give you a brief history of the Charlottetown Harbour - the “Cradle of Confederation” when Canada first became a country, the Mi’kmaq who first settled the province, as well as a bit about the Charlottetown Harbour itself.
  • Victoria Park - The Isola Solaretto will pass silently by beautiful Victoria Park, where you can see the cannons & armaments of this historic fort.
  • Port-la-Joye - Fort Amherst - You will see the entrance to Charlottetown Harbour and famous Port-la-Joye (Fort Amherst) at Rocky Point.
  • Government House - Here you will see the “Birthplace of Canada” where the colonies Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick met for the first time in 1864 to determine that Canada would become a country.
  • Stratford - Your captain will take you by several multi-million dollar houses, including a $15M home to show you some “rock armouring” for shoreline protection gone wrong. PEI is losing about 1 ft of shoreline every year and there is a right way & a wrong way to protect it.

  • St. Dunstan’s Basilica - Learn about the tallest structure in Charlottetown - The St. Dunstan’s Basilica, which is one of 27 designated Basilica’s in Canada and a National Historic Site.

Lobster, yum, yum, yum! - The lobster lunch was fantastic. Steve did a great job telling us about different points of interest. Was enjoyable seeing the houses, the church, videos, etc. and even saw a seal. Not for very long but did see one. Also had fun with the trivia questions and looking through the view master. It would be nice if we could have gotten closer to land so we could see things clearer than we were able to see them though. Just a suggestion.

Would highly recommend - Excellent tour with Steve and Al. Very knowledgeable about the history and was great learning bout they solar boat which was originally made for expo 1967 at Montreal. Made to feel right at home. Steve has a gift of storytelling and Al gave any one who want a change to steer the ship.

Lots Of Great Information About the Town AND The Boat - Nice little tour of the harbor with an enormous amount of history given by the owner. He kept us entertained the entire time either by speaking or playing some short videos. He even had a trivia game for the passengers. They do also offer beverages and snacks on board. MAKE SURE TO ARRIVE 30 MINUTES BEFORE Tour time. Yes, I missed that statement...Oops. Was in the area the whole 30 minutes prior but was just getting down there 15 minutes early when I got a call from the Owner to see if I was on my way. So very lovely of him to check in with us. Definitely something fun to do in this lovely little town.

If you have 2 hours to spare, give this boat tour a go. - The history of PEI was very interesting. I was unaware the PEI mussels were distributed through the world. Enjoyable 1 1/2 hours on the water learning about Canada and PEI.

Very informative - The tour was very informative but would suggest that they remove the letters on the windows and move them up or take them down. It was very distracting looking out the window,
