In this part of the tour we make a trip at dawn, approximately 3 hours towards the Colca Valley, and when the sunlight illuminates the mountains we will wake up in a beautiful landscape of the Andes, we will enter the Colca Valley to make our first stop in a beautiful traditional town, the most important during the Colonial era, the town called YANQUE.
Yanque - 6:30am will be the time to enjoy a delicious traditional breakfast prepared by a local family, 30 minutes later we can continue along the Valley of Fire (Colca) to appreciate the beautiful Pre-Inca terraces, built through generations, by different cultures, in different periods with the sole purpose of searching for useful land, fighting against the adversities of the land and thus cultivating its most important local products, a source of subsistence, in addition to this we can also meet the talkative river running through and eroding the walls and the ground From this beautiful valley and in parallel, we will observe the Chila mountain range and its enormous peaks of more than 5500 meters high and at its feet the traditional towns with colonial architectural characteristics, all this within this wonderful landscape that only the Colca Valley can offer us. to offer. After an hour of travel we will arrive at the most important viewpoint known as Cruz del Condor
Mirador Cruz del Condor - Around 8:00 am we will be arriving at the main viewpoint of the condors, a spectacular place considered by the natives of the Canyon as an important sanctuary, since ancient times, this viewpoint will allow us to appreciate the magnitude of the Canyon, with an incredible panoramic view. In addition, it is a strategic point where we will be (approximately 40 minutes) to observe and enjoy the majestic flight of the Andean Condor, a primitive bird whose evolution has not manifested itself for thousands of years, being venerated and considered as a divinity by the local cultures and today it is in danger of extinction, but this day with a bit of luck, we will be able to observe it once it decides to leave its nest and glide in the air, taking advantage of the ascending thermal currents.
After enjoying this beautiful show we will continue to the starting point for our main activity, the descent to the Colca Canyon.
Colca Canyon - Once prepared, we can start the 5-hour walk, with a drop of approximately 1,200 meters.
We will continue through winding paths, which will take us to one of the deepest parts of the Canyon, on the way we will be able to record this beautiful scenery with our camera, which will allow us to enjoy each section, knowing, resting and tasting some local fruits while we observe the majesty of the Canyon and the mountains.
The trail takes us to the Colca River and to a charming place known as PALLCA, which will be our destination, here we will taste lunch prepared with products from the area, the afternoon is free to rest, relax muscles in the thermal baths or explore the area. and interact with the local people, at night we will enjoy a delicious dinner and an interesting conversation with our guide, who will explain to us about the culture, ethnic groups, customs, traditions and rituals that are still alive in the Colca Canyon .
PALLCA - Toruña - Belen - Apacheta viewpoint - Malata town - Pre-Inca amphitheater - suspension bridge - Oasis of SANGALLE
Llahuar Lodge - Today we walk approximately 5 hours, we start with a delicious local breakfast, the goal is to reach Sangalle, and its beautiful Oasis, the first two hours are ascent to the viewpoint known as Apacheta, during the tour we will cross hanging bridges and small communities, where we can observe the hard work of the inhabitants, to carry the water to their agricultural fields, in addition the Guide the guide will explain to us about the flora, fauna and the morphology of the Canyon, in the second part we will descend through the Amphitheater, an archaeological site built for agricultural (1200-1500 B.C) and after a break to rest and rehydrate, we will continue along a zigzag path surrounded by native plants and cacti of different varieties, and immediately we will arrive at our destination known as the Sangalle Oasis (2100m)
Oasis Sangalle - At approximately 1:00 pm we will be arriving at this beautiful place inside the Canyon, popularly known as (Oasis 2100 m.s.n.m.) the time will be perfect to enjoy the natural pool and cool off, right away we will taste the typical lunch and then the afternoon will be free, you You can explore this beautiful place and go through its forest of fruit trees or just relax and enjoy the landscape socializing and drinking a delicious Colca sour.
7:00 pm we will have the traditional dinner of the Colca Canyon and of course the important talk about the main activity of the next day (the ascent to the Canyon) this will be the perfect moment to answer all our doubts regarding this climb hike, later We can now go to sleep since the next day usually starts very early, your tour guide will take care of reserving a mule for the participants who require it.
OASIS - Pueblo Cabana - Valley of fire (Colca) - Thermal baths - CHIVAY - Vicuñas National Reserve - Arequipa
Cabanaconde - At 4:00 a.m. we start the 3-hour walk (approximately 5km) during the ascent we will adopt the well-known mountaineer rhythm, to make good use of our energy and achieve the objective (the top of the Canyon) and once the sunlight light our way, we will be able to observe how far we have already advanced, we will pause to rest and from a different angle, enjoy the extraordinary view of the Canyon, 1 hour later we will conquer the top, then we will go to the town of Cabanaconde and we will have enough time to rest and enjoy breakfast, then we will board our tourist transport and on the way to Chivay, we will stop in a town in the Colca Valley, to visit its colonial church, buy souvenirs and then continue to the medicinal thermal baths (38 C ° - 40 C°) here we will have 1 hour to relax and relieve any muscular contraction, then we will go to the town of CHIVAY.
Chivay - At 1:00 pm we will be arriving at the main town known as CHIVAY, where there will be a great opportunity to make another trip, this time through the senses, mainly taste, so that you can enjoy the traditional stews of gastronomy. Arequipeña, one of the best in the country, this being the best opportunity to understand why Peru was chosen for the ninth consecutive year as the best culinary destination on the planet.
After enjoying such a pleasant moment, we will continue towards the viewpoint of the volcanoes and the national reserve of the vicuñas.
Abra Patapampa - Continuing with our return trip to Arequipa we will arrive at the viewpoint of the volcanoes (4910msnm), the highest point of the entire expedition, from there we will be able to appreciate part of the volcanic mountain range of the central Andes, and its most representative volcanoes, such as the Misti , Chachani, Sabancaya, Walka Walka and Ampato, a high altitude sanctuary where the Inca princess “Juanita” was sacrificed.
After marveling at such an exceptional panorama, we continue towards the last place to visit.
