True people and spirit of the island - This trip is the essence of the spirit of the island! Everything is so genuine and homemade with extra care for the guests. We felt very welcome and were kept being interested and entertained all the time. There was a lot to see and do and learn about the villagers. Everybody was lovely, and very talented with different crafts and unique knowledge. The home cooking was very hearty and delicious!!!! If you are thinking of getting a different excursion rather than this one, I recommend you think twice. Don't miss out on this!

One of the best excursions we’ve ever done - Well what can we say, it was an absolute pleasure to meet Aritson, his family and the local community. This is a real, authentic, experience where they really show you how some of the locals actually live and work. Aritson speaks very good English so we got to ask lots of questions and learnt a lot more than we have from all 5 of the other trips on the island of Boa Vista. We got to see some pigs, get up close with the goats (watering, milking and even helping heard them when they escaped), got to see some baby goats, sheep and there are loads of chickens, ducks, little birds roaming around. We got to try the local Cape Verde dish for breakfast with eggs which was delicious, has some fresh water melon which was also delightful. We toured the family farms to see some of the things they have planted and are growing and also tasted a fruit we’ve never tried before, I can’t recall the name but it was something like Tamarind, which was surprising how tasty it was. We visited one of the family homes to see how goats cheese was made then visited a friends bar to taste the cheese and the local drink, I believe he called it Ponche, which one of the ingredients was grogue (The national liquor of Cape Verde), this was very strong but did have a lovely smooth taste. Overall it was an absolutely brilliant trip, really enjoyed it and 100% recommend it.

Wonderful experience - I am a solo traveller and booked on to the tour the evening before and they had one going I could join in on. Excellent communication from the start,
This really was an excellent tour / experience, you really get to feel the true nature of being a Cape Verdean, the amazing hospitality and nothing was too much trouble!
I really enjoyed having the amazing company, learning their traditions and culture, and milking a goat is definitely harder than it looks! 😂 the bonus was also the amazing tasting ponche (we enjoyed quite a few!) and the finest goats cheese that Cape Verde has to offer!
Truly wonderful day, so laid back and really felt like you were a part of the family! Highlight was all the lovely food that was prepared for us!
Huge thanks to Aritson, his mum for her spectacular katxupa, and everyone else we met!

Fantastic experience - Was at Nostira Xperiences today and had a unique experience.
Milked a goat and then fed it. Then went to the family for brunch. . After that we made cheese. This woman has already won several prizes on Boa Vista for her cheese. It was really delicious. All in all it was a very nice day full of experiences, I can only recommend it 👍👍👍👍🇮🇸❤️

Best experience in Boa Vista - Despite having a wide catalog of excursions in Boa Vista, none has surprised us as much as Cabrer Journey.
The way in which they teach you their origins, the hospitality of the entire family, their humble, close treatment... make it an unforgettable experience for me, and without a doubt, the best tour on the island.
The feeling of entering this fantastic family, enjoying good company, learning from their traditions, being part of the "cabrer" experience, has opened up a different vision of the country and, especially, of the island of Boa Vista.
Many thanks to Aritson and his entire family.
We will repeat and toast again with that delicious punch.

Best tour on the island - We had such a wonderful time, this trip is a must. Such a personalised experience and we had the honour of meeting such a welcoming, kind and loving family. The whole day was tranquil and relaxed. Experiencing local culture and being able to milk and feed the goats as well as see other animals and the fruit and vegetables growing on the farms were brilliant. Our guide Aritson communicated so well before the trip and accommodated for us being vegetarian and was so knowledgeable and professional throughout, happy to answer any questions. The lunch and goats cheese were both delicious and the village colourful and beautiful but most of all the family inviting us into their homes and learning about their culture and lives made it hard to leave, a very humbling experience from skilled, hard working, kind people who we can learn a lot from. If you are looking for a real cape verde experience, a chance to relax in nature and meet wonderful people please do book this tour, we are so very glad we did.

An amazing insight into the daily life of a Cabrer - From the start the communication was fantastic, a clear whatsapp message before the date to indicate times.
The actuall experience was very authentic, very hands and even got to try Boa Vistas traditional cuisine.
Aritson was extremely friendly and made us feel at home, by showing us his roots and lifestyle. He answered all questions that we had.
Highly highly recommend this excursion and tasting the award winning chilli cheese!

Be a local and see the real Boa Vista - Absolutely loved it. An authentic immersion into the day to day of a local. It was a humbling enjoyable experience, plus a knowledgeable, fun guide. Booking was easy and straight forward with clear communication via Whatapp. I was picked up and we travelled to a local town where we explored a farm, helping milk the goats, feeding the animals, herding, ploughing the farm, and tasting fresh produce. We then went to a local home to try some traditional food, see I side the houses, meet the family and understand their culture. This was all at our own pace, no rush. Watching the cheese making was interesting and I then got to try the local liquor! Everyone was helpful in answering my many questions and sharing their homes with me. Thank you so, so much! I love CV xxx

A Great African farm experience - The trip was a real experience of the life of a goat farmers. He was very informative and we enjoyed having a go milking a goat. And then drinking it. Then see the hen and chickens.collectinh eggs and feeding the animals. Our granddaughter and nephew loved it. Then we saw the vegetables being picked and shown the wells where the water comes from .the village. The man making the cheese and tasting it. It was goats cheese.which was very good. It was trip we will remember for years as it the real Africa we saw. The breakfast the ladies made us beans and meat and a fried egg and coffee made outside sat under trees and a man playing guitar.
