Great visit - Great visit. Food was not delicious, the places visited really great. We really enjoyed it. Lagoon was beautiful, even though there is not much to discover in the places they are beautiful.

A fun, memorable day with good friends! - Very good is a stretch, but average isn't a very fair rating either. Someone has taken a few liberties with the photos shown. The DuDu lagoon is black and not at all blue in the center as shown. The Blue Lagoon was very clear and cold - great place to take photos. The grounds are pretty. The beach you stop at is not as nice as shown - trash is everywhere - litter as far as you can see. They don't take any pride in their surroundings - you see trash all over the island - it's sad. We only got 50 minutes at the beach - could have used more time. If you have to use the bathroom they charge you at the beach. Not the other places. The lunch was pretty good. You spend more time on the bus going from place to place vs. actually enjoying each stop. The mangrove ride on the boat was interesting - we happen to venture out during a lightening storm - we questioned the wisdom of this (I'm a lifetime boater)... the guide was nice and informative. Our driver was great - bless him, we had monsoon rains on the way back to the resort and it took 4 hours to get back - a bridge was washed out and we had to wait for the water to go down. It was nice to do once, but no need to do it again.

Not a 4 star at all - Blue Bay Villa - Dorado Review - Please read in full The Good: The food was very good, with plenty of selection and a different theme night in the buffet every 7 days. The Bad: We requested a room on the ground floor and were told there were none available, even though we booked two months in advance. When there finally was a room on the ground floor, it was below standard. There was no blow dryer or makeup mirror, the fridge served more as a storage area, and t 6he phone was merely decoration. They provided a blow dryer and makeup mirror a few hours later. We had to use one of our key cards to keep the air conditioning running at all times. The front desk is by no means of any help. We had informed them several times that our phone was not connected, and they simply ignored our complaint. Several nights we needed to contact the front desk and could not as it was a clear safety violation. The worst part: It was day 5 of our 10-day trip, and friends we made on this trip, started becoming severely ill. We met 6 couples, between Sunday and Tuesday of the 12 people, 7 came down with this illness. Two of the people had a major conversation with the general manager informing them, of this epidemic and they were told no other guests were complaining. By Wednesday, we knew of about 60 guests suffering the same illness. We were lucky not to have caught whatever this was, but it was brutal. Management tried to convince them that perhaps the "few" guests experiencing any illness may have drunk tap water, which should not be done. It was not from drinking the tap water. Some sort of virus was going around the resort, and management did not take responsibility to minimize the spread of whatever this was. Even some of the staff were sick, and still, nothing was being done. The two guests who confronted management, asking for a refund as they wished to leave and go elsewhere, were told that if they discussed this matter with any other guests, they would be evicted, and a penalty fine would be imposed on them. If you are looking for a cheap all-inclusive resort, this is the place, but if you value your trip, stay away.

If you are considering the blue lagoon please read - Make no mistake. This excursion sucks. They say drive time is 1.5-2 hours. Not. Beaches you visit are very pretty. But the third world tourist hawks detract as does the piles of garbage. Also, it costs money to use the bathroom at on of the beaches. Lunch was solid C-. The actual Blue lagoon is a complete bust. It is two small inland lakes in limestone formation. There were some pretty plants but far from botanical garden. Thank God the facility had a bar. The day would have been better bobbing for Dominican yams in a vat of Mama Juana.
