- Nuraghe Arrubiu - Located in the Sarcidano area of central Sardinia, SANTA VITTORIA southern, this is one of the most significant protohistoric monuments in Western Europe. It is the largest megalithic structure on the island and the only known nuraghe with five towers. The nickname ‘Red Giant’ comes from its grand proportions and the red hues of the lichens that color its basalt stone walls. The Nuraghe Arrubiu complex spans five thousand square meters and features a central tower (mastio) that stands 15 meters tall—originally double—surrounded by a robust bastion with five towers. This is further encircled by a defensive wall with seven towers connected by curtains. Inside, there are various courtyards. To the southeast, another wall with five towers connected by walls can be found. In total, there are 21 towers.
- Santuario Nuragico di Santa Vittoria - Situated on a basalt plateau at the border between the Sarcidano and Trexenta territories in central-southern Sardinia, this is one of the island’s most important and long-standing sites, transitioning from a federal Nuragic sanctuary to a Byzantine church. It is a captivating place where you can observe the evolution of the Nuragic civilization from the Bronze Age to the early Iron Age. Four groups of buildings can be identified. The first is the sacred area, which includes the well temple dedicated to the water cult, the main building constructed with meticulously crafted basalt blocks. Another architectural group is the ‘party enclosure,’ a socio-commercial area for festivities, business, and the accommodation of ‘foreigners.’ The third group consists of huts, and the fourth complex includes the ‘execution enclosure’ and the ‘curia’ with around 50 seats, where the leaders of various Nuragic peoples of central Sardinia may have gathered.
- Parco Archeologico di Pranu Muttedu - One of the most remarkable, significant, and unique pre-Nuragic sites in Sardinia, located in the verdant countryside of Gerrei in the central-eastern part of the island’s south. Spanning 200 thousand square meters and surrounded by lush cork oaks and Mediterranean scrub of the Gerrei hills, it is one of the most evocative and important archaeological sites in inland Sardinia. To the north, in the locality of Su Crancu, there is a cluster of huts associated with the necropolis. To the south of the village are the burial grounds of Pranu Muttedu and Nuraxeddu, exceptionally surrounded by large groups of menhirs, either in pairs, aligned, or within the same tombs, and by circular constructions likely of a sacred nature. Further south, the domus de Janas necropolis of Genna Accas rises, carved into the rock, with three tomb circles.

You will be surrounded by the green countryside of Gerrei, the park is surrounded by lush cork oaks and Mediterranean scrub. Once you leave Pranu Muttedu after about 30 minutes you can admire the fascinating Nuraghe Arrubiu, one of the largest protohistoric monuments of Western Europe, the most imposing megalithic structure on the island, as well as the only known nuraghe with five towers. The nickname Red Giant is due to its majestic proportions and the red shades of the lichens that color its basaltic stone walls. On this site it is also possible to stop for lunch. In the afternoon we will move to the Nuragic Sanctuary of Santa Vittoria, one of the most important and ‘long-lived’ archaeological areas of the island, from Federal nuragic sanctuary and Byzantine church.
