- Silverswift Dive & Snorkel - Your day begins as you board the boat at Marlin Wharf. The ultra modern 29 meter catamaran will be your base for the day. Throughout the day you’ll visit three different locations which may include Thetford, Milln and Flynn Reef. Each stop showcases a different aspect of the beautiful Great Barrier Reef. At each site you have the choice to snorkel, dive or a combination of both.
We recommend you book this reef trip on your first full available day. You then have the opportunity to be flexible and change your travel date if you wish. Your booking can be changed at no additional cost directly with the operator once you are in Cairns. Prebook and secure your booking, but relax in knowing you can make amendments at no charge.

Embark on an all-day excursion from Cairns to the vibrant underwater ecosystem of the Great Barrier Reef. Regardless of whether you’re an expert or a newbie, a snorkeler or a scuba diver, this dive and snorkel journey from Cairns offers an exceptional glimpse into the rich marine biodiversity and unique coral varieties the Great Barrier Reef is renowned for. The trip encompasses visits to three distinct dive sites and is most enjoyable for individuals comfortable in aquatic environments.
- Minimum age for all diving activities is 12 years. Medical conditions apply and some people may require a doctor’s certificate to participate in scuba diving..
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking
- After a single scuba dive a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. If doing multiple dives an interval of 24 hours is suggested.
- Ceritified Diving: Certified divers must possess an internationally recognised SCUBA certificate card.
- Please confirm your booking at least 24 hours prior to travel.
- All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire onboard prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor.

Highly recommended for snorkelling - Great trip despite the weather. Really windy and rough conditions to get out on to the reef. The crew were very informative and helpful to prepare us for what to expect. They sold motion sickness tablets on board which was a big help.
We did the snorkelling which was a lot of fun. All of the required gear was supplied. The crew were amazing and so attentive. We were given informative talks about all of the wildlife and what to expect in the reef.
Would highly recommend.

Super awesome experience! 5/5 rating! - Super awesome experience! The instructors are very professional! I felt safe and comfortable. My first Scuba experience was awesome! Kyoko was my instructor and she is simply amazing! All in all I recommend this experience highly. It includes food, full safety and most visually appealing sights!

Dream come true ! -
My excursion with Silver Swift to the Great Barrier Reef was an absolute dream come true! It was my highlight of all my Australia trip. Another highlight of the trip was the amazing marine biologist on board (I forgot her name 😫 Maybe it was Maria) but she was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. She not only explained fascinating details about the reef and its marine life, but also gave personalized recommendations on the best places to snorkel, like where to spot clownfish and even a 90-year-old giant clam!
What made the experience truly exceptional was the amount of time we got to spend exploring the reef. I loved that we stopped at three different locations, which allowed us to see so much more than I expected. Each stop had its own unique beauty, and I never felt rushed.
If you're looking for an unforgettable Great Barrier Reef adventure, I highly recommend Silver Swift. The experience was well-organized, educational, and simply magical!
The food was good and overall staff was amazing too! 🤩
Cherry on top was the Unboarding, I felt like I was in Below deck. The entire crew including Captain lined up to give us farewell!! Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable experience! I will be back!!

Amazing experience!!! - Such an amazing experience!! The coral reefs and sea life were some of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. We had three snorkel stops and none of them felt rushed. The staff were really helpful in every way. There was even a lifeguard which I haven’t seen on many other snorkel tours. I only did the snorkel part but there were plenty of divers too. Would definitely do again!!
One note to tour guests : please take Dramamine (if medically appropriate for you) if the seas are going to be rough. So many people got sick on the ride out there (about 1.5 hrs to the snorkeling spots), even though the staff reiterated multiple times that people should take motion sickness medication prior to the trip. Most people didn’t listen. Don’t ruin your day by getting sick when it’s easily preventable!

Don’t think just do it !! - What an awesome experience ! Couldn’t fault anything about this trip out to the reef. 3 dive sights & all different. The staff were so friendly & helpful with very clear instructions on everything & the food was delish. What a great day the 4 of us had. We enjoyed it so much we cruised again 2 days later. So great !!! If we could give more than 5 stars we would.

Unforgettable experience - This day in the great barrier reef was unforgettable. The silverswift is the only tour who does 3 sites. The tides were extra low but it didn't impact the snorkel/dive. I did the introduction to diving on the second site, the instructor Yui was very professional, making sure we understood the safety instructions and regularly checking on the three of us. We even saw a turtle feeding on the reef algae.
Free tea and coffee were served at each stop, and the buffet was great.
They take underwater photos during the dives and snorkel that you can buy, expensive but it makes a great memory.
I 100% recommend it!

Silverswift is the real deal - Silverswift is the real deal. If you're considering multiple options like I was, don't think twice about Silverswift from Great Adventures.
1 - Thank you, Theresa, from Chile. She was a phenomenal instructor for the introductory dives. (Please ensure she receives these thanks)
2 - The staff is attentive and well trained. You can tell that the management behind the staff does a good job of hiring and operations. No bad apples on the ship. Clear process being followed.
3 - The boat itself is well maintained, clean and air-conditioned. The diving and snorkeling equipment works, and the staff is helpful in choosing and getting it on/off.

Amazing experience despite high wind - Party of 3, 1 snorkeler , 2 divers who hadn’t dove for over 15 years.
Went july 31, wind 15-25 knots and rough seas expected. We were nervous about the weather conditions.
Silverswift boat ride was bumpy as expected but we took the travacalm as recommended and did fine. Went to Flynn reef. Actual reef conditions were good and fairly calm. Snorkeler had great time. Diving was excellent too. Staff were great food and snacks good. Highly recommend! Dont be turned away by the weather .

overcrowded poor customer service - Trip canceled at last minute due to mechanical issues was offered upgrade to a more expensive trip and die to limited time left took it. got dumped on green island gor 1.5 hours and byvthevtime we got our gear found where to snorkel and worked out hiw to use thing it was pretty much time to head back to catch the next boat jo customer service at the pontoon had issues putting on stinger suit no one to help had to figure everything out for my self the trip wasn't an upgrade but a major downgrade customer service poor and felt like a number in a overcrowded trip
