Embark on an all-day excursion from Cairns to the vibrant underwater ecosystem of the Great Barrier Reef. Regardless of whether you’re an expert or a newbie, a snorkeler or a scuba diver, this dive and snorkel journey from Cairns offers an exceptional glimpse into the rich marine biodiversity and unique coral varieties the Great Barrier Reef is renowned for. The trip encompasses visits to three distinct dive sites and is most enjoyable for individuals comfortable in aquatic environments.
- Minimum age for all diving activities is 12 years. Medical conditions apply and some people may require a doctor’s certificate to participate in scuba diving..
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking
- After a single scuba dive a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. If doing multiple dives an interval of 24 hours is suggested.
- Ceritified Diving: Certified divers must possess an internationally recognised SCUBA certificate card.
- Please confirm your booking at least 24 hours prior to travel.
- All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire onboard prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor.

A great day out - A great experience seeing the Great Barrier Reef with the option to snorkel or scuba dive!
The staff were so friendly and helpful with everything. Would recommend if you are on a trip in Cairns.

Silverswift. - Had the best day with Silverswift out at the great barrier reef - the fish were amazing! Myself and my partner did two introductory dives, while my parents snorkelled. We felt safe at all times and the staff were great to my parents who were a little nervous in the water. The food was lovely and you could eat as mich as you wanted. Would highly recommend Silverswift.

Fantastic trip for solo travelers! - I had a fantastic time as a solo traveler on the Silver Swift! The boat was fantastic and we were able to sit outside and lay in the sun throughout the day which was beautiful. We were given great food often and there were so many amazing crew members making sure everyone was having fun! We went to 3 reefs and I snorkeled at each one. My favorite was by far the second reef, you could see so many fish and beautiful coral! We got stinger suits and everything needed to be safe in the water and I rented a GoPro to take photos and videos. At the 3rd reef, one of the guides gave an (around) 30-minute snorkel tour around the reef which was exceptional. He was in the water with us, free diving probably 50 feet to show us Nemo, and Christmas tree coral, and so much else! I even saw a tiny reef shark! I do wish we had gone to more fish and coral-oriented reefs since it was just a lot of coral and I would've loved to see a turtle, but still a great opportunity. They also let me snorkel alone as a solo traveler after I told them that I am a strong swimmer and have snorkeled before so I loved exploring on my own! Overall, a fantastic experience and if I ever go back to Cairns I would rejoin this tour!

First class experience! - This was my second outing in the Silverswift, and just like 9 years ago, I had a first class experience. The level of service was a step up from most dive/snorkel outfitters. The food was really good, the crew was top notch and the dive/snorkel sites chosen offered a lot of sea life.

Perfect value for money and helpful staff - Such a great trip for the price the staff are really helpful and nice onboard and the scuba instructor are very caring I had Kelly who was very informative and made sure we got the most out of introductory dive I enjoyed that much I booked on 1 more dive couldn’t recommend enough if you are looking for a boat to go on !!

Very well run tour - The trio was perfectly organized and flowed very well, even with 84 people on board. The snorkeling was fun, easy, with some good views, but sadly much of the reef has seen better days as much of the coral has been fried by warmer than normal water temperatures. Great crew working aboard the boat!

Thank you for putting our safety first - We booked this tour having opted to snorkel rather than dive. When completing the medical screening/experience questionnaire the crew identified that this was maybe a little too challenging for our level of experience and were able to transfer us to a more suitable tour on their sister ship.
We are so glad they did as we had a wonderful trip out to Michaelmas Cay and the opportunity to take a trip on a semi-submersible and to snorkel in much safer waters.
All credit to the tour operator for putting safety as their top priority.

I hope this review encourages you to be transparent with your customers and charge the full price for two dives from the - Today, I went diving, and it was a truly beautiful experience. In my opinion, it’s incomparable to other tourist activities. Spend as much time as you can on diving.
Unfortunately, even though I had done over 20 dives before, I didn’t have a diving license, so I had to go for an intro dive and go through the basic training. For the first dive, they use a small tank, and because you repeat the breathing exercises multiple times, I only had about 5 minutes underwater during the first dive before the tank emptied quickly.
After raising my concern with Marcos, the team leader, I realized they wanted me to pay an additional $80 for a second dive with a larger tank! I think everyone is forced to go through the same thing. For someone who has traveled thousands of kilometers for the Great Barrier Reef, no one would want to settle for just 5 minutes underwater.
