Our green island trip - Even though the weather was a bit rough. The semi submersible boat was an excellent experience. The staff did an amazing job.

Day trip to Green Island - Apart from the beautiful weather, we had a very informative talk from a marine biologist, great viewing through the glass bottomed boat of corals, fish and turtles. The buffet lunch was enjoyed by us all too and great service from the crew. Thank you.

Amazing experience! - It was great! I went with my boyfriend and friends and it was so so nice. It was very free range to do whatever you want and just wander around the island. Snorkeling was great around the island too.

The glass bottom boat was a real treat. - We went on Fri 31 May 2024. Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruise - Included Cairns to Green Island on the Big Cat, and we added the Glass Bottomed boat trip at the Island, and we added a meal at the Island Resort into the mix. Pickup was from a location 50m from where we were staying. Pickup and drop-off were on-time. Scenery was fantastic views of the islands, with the captain filling in the history and facts. The glass bottom boat was a real treat - the Captain was local and has deep insight into the reef, the fish, weather influence, and more. There is a long walk on the island, we did this. There is also the Marineland Melanesia - Crocodile Habitat & Gift Shop that should not be misses - be in time for the Croc Feeding. The Guide explains a lot about the turtles and the crocs there. Cassius is the largest croc in captivity. The Emerald Restaurant meal at the Resort was quite acceptable (we were a bit late, they accommodated us, but could only offer the burger on the menu - we accepted graciously and enjoyed it. A great day outing!!! Worth every cent. Memorable. Highly recommended!!!

Big Cat are great!! - I went to Green Island with Big Cat- I caught the reef rocket for a day trip from 12-4. I can’t fault Big Cat- they had a very informative safety and snorkelling briefing at the beginning of the cruise, the staff were very friendly, the boat was spacious and well maintained/air conditioned, and the buffet lunch aboard the big cat was very yummy. I went on both the glass bottom boat and semi submarine tour which were both amazing! I wish they would’ve been longer than 30 minutes! The only thing preventing me from rating the whole trip 5 stars was the smell of the Island, but Big Cat were amazing!! :)

Great for beginners - Very interesting experience. Never did any part of the Great Barrier Reef and this was a good starting point. Boat ride was pleasant and all the crew was helpful and informative. Especially whoever the young men were who gave my girls very good snorkeling areas to go to! Green island was a surprise for us, had no idea the smell would be so horrendous. One of the employees informed us that it was the bird urine that pretty much is everywhere. Beyond bad. But you deal with it for the experience. Next time i will definitely go out of port Douglas to a spot further out. Like i said a great introductory.

Fun! If you don’t really want to snorkel - This was fun! Especially if you are not really going to snorkel the reef. We went on a beautiful day and did a full day tour. The boat stays at the dock all day so it’s easy to come and go from the island. There is a small shopping area but it was hard to spend time there because there is a smell that is all around that is very unappealing. My understanding is the smell comes from a type of tree that grows on the island. The day we went there was a very low tide so it was difficult to snorkel without hurting the coral or getting cut by the coral. Overall it was a good tour. Everyone was friendly and the service was great. Simi submersible sub allowed use to see the reef and a lot of wonder fish. I saw a sea turtle in the sub and from the boat. The only thing that could have made it better would have been more information on wear to find stuff in the island like beach chairs for hire and island tours etc.

disappointing - this was my least favourite of all tours I have taken in the past year. snorkeling was very disappointing. all I saw was green grass basically. not many fish and very little coral. also did recent snorkeling tours in Bali and Okinawa which were significantly better.
