Giza Pyramids, Saqqara Pyramid, and Dahshour Pyramids

Pyramids of Giza - After breakfast at the hotel, our Egyptologist will pick you up for a private tour in Cairo. First, visit the Giza Pyramids (Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus). The Great Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Nearby, see the Sphinx and the Dream Stela. The Sphinx, a majestic statue with a lion’s body and a human head, guarded Egypt’s northwestern gateway.

Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Visit the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, considered the world’s oldest and most significant stone structure, built during the Third Dynasty for King Djoser.

Pyramids of Dahshour - King Senefru built another pyramid 2 km from his first. This time, the architect corrected previous mistakes, starting the pyramid at a 43-degree angle to avoid inclinations like the Bent Pyramid. This was the first perfect pyramid with straight sides, setting the standard for future pyramids like those at Giza. Known as the Red Pyramid of Dahshour, its inner burial chamber is made of rosette limestone. The pyramid has three small chambers with high walls.

Alexandria (Catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, Alexandria Bibliotheca, and Fort Qaitbey)

Pompey’s Pillar - Your Egyptologist Tour Guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am for a drive to Alexandria. Start your tour with Pompey’s Pillar, a massive 30m column made of red Aswan granite, a prime sight in the city. It stands among the sparse ruins of the Temple of Serapeum.

Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - Proceed to the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, consisting of three floors and featuring the Triclinium, where relatives feasted the dead. Inside are 2nd Century AD statues of the gods Sobek and Anubis in Roman armor.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina - Visit the exterior of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and take photos. Enjoy a lunch meal afterward.

Fort Qaitbey - The final stop is the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria to repel attacks from the Mediterranean Sea. After the tour, return to Cairo and be dropped off at your hotel.

Civilization Museum & The Grand Egyptian Museum

National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NEMC) - Discover artifacts representing Egypt’s civilization through different eras.

The Grand Egyptian Museum - Visit the newest and largest museum in the world, featuring significant pieces from the pharaohs’ era, including a special hall for Tutankhamen.

Old Cairo & The Citadel of Salah Eldin, Khan El Khalili Bazaar

Mosque of Muhammad Ali - Start the day with a visit to the Citadel of Salah Eldin, built in 1183 AD on the Moqattam Hills as a defense against Crusaders. See the Alabaster Mosque, still used for worship today, designed by Turkish architect Youssef Boushnaq. The tour guide will provide an overview of the mosque’s history.

Old Cairo - Explore Old Cairo, including the Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque, the Hanging Church, Abu Serga Church, and Ben Ezra Synagogue, all located on the same street where the Holy Family once stayed.

Khan Al-Khalili - Conclude the tour with shopping at Khan El Khalili Bazaar for handmade souvenirs. Return to your hotel.

Departure / Back Home
