Pompey’s Pillar - Despite its name, Pompey’s Pillar is not related to Pompey. The red granite column, likely built to honor Emperor Diocletian, stands 25 meters high and is the tallest ancient monument in Alexandria.
Kayetbai - The Citadel of Sultan Qeitbay was constructed in the 15th century by Mamlouk Sultan Qeitbay to protect the city from Crusaders. This Islamic monument was built using the ruins of the old Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was damaged in an earthquake in 1303 A.D.
Enjoy lunch at an Egyptian restaurant in Alexandria, with vegetarian options available upon request. After the tour, check into your hotel in Alexandria.

Day 5 - Siwa Oasis
Marsa Matruh - After breakfast, drive back to Cairo, stopping for lunch in Marsa Matrouh. Visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and take a felucca tour around Elephantine Island, the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk.
Aswan High Dam - The Aswan High Dam, a rock-fill dam at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan, was constructed between 1960 and 1968 and officially inaugurated in 1971.
Unfinished Obelisk - The Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan’s Northern Quarries offers insight into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques. If completed, it would have been the heaviest piece of stone ever fashioned by the Egyptians.
Enjoy lunch on board the cruise.
Day 7 - Abu Simbel and Kom Ombo Temples
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - After breakfast and lunch on board, visit the Abu Simbel temples, carved out of the mountain on the Nile’s west bank between 1274 and 1244 B.C. The Great Temple was dedicated to Ramses II, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah, while the second temple was dedicated to Queen Nefertari and Goddess Hathor. The temples were relocated to higher ground to preserve them, a significant achievement by UNESCO.
At 13:00, sail to Kom Ombo.
Temple of Kom Ombo - Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the deities Sobek and Horus, dating mainly to the Ptolemaic and Roman periods (332 B.C. - 395 A.D.). Sail to Edfu and overnight on board.
Day 8 - Edfu and Luxor
Temple of Horus - After breakfast on the Nile cruise, visit the well-preserved Temple of Horus in Edfu, constructed during the Ptolemaic period. Sail to Luxor through the Esna lock and visit Luxor Temple, largely built by Pharaoh Amenhotep III and completed by King Tutankhamun and Ramses II.
Enjoy dinner and overnight on board the cruise.
Day 9 - Disembarkation in Luxor and Transfer to Cairo
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast on the Nile cruise, visit the west bank of Luxor and Karnak. The Valley of the Kings, once called the Great Place of the Truth, is the burial site of pharaohs awaiting immortality.
