Egyptian Museum & Giza Pyramids Tour.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Begin your tour with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, showcasing a unique collection spanning 5000 years of art. This museum houses the world’s largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art, featuring over 250,000 authentic artifacts. Highlights include the Tutankhamen collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry, which remained sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years until its discovery in 1920 AD. Also on display are the mummies of Yuya and Thuya, King Tut’s great-grandparents, and the animal mummies room.
Pyramids of Giza - Explore the Great Pyramids – Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Cheops, the largest pyramid ever constructed, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built by the brilliant architect Himinu. It took 20 years to complete and consists of 2,300,000 limestone blocks. Next, get a close-up view of the Sphinx, a massive funerary complex guarded by a legendary lion-bodied figure with the face of King Chephren. Visit the Valley Temple, where the king’s body was mummified, and the workers’ tombs. Enjoy a camel ride through the Giza desert and savor a local lunch at a nice restaurant. At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
(Optional) Evening trip to attend the Sound & Light show in the Pyramids area.
Alexandria Tour
Kayetbai - Visit the site of the ancient Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, now home to the Castle of Qaitbay. Built in the 14th century by Mamluk King Qaitbay to defend Egypt’s northern borders against Ottoman attacks, the castle later fell to the French and British due to the garrisons’ outdated weaponry compared to the French guns.
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - Next, explore the Catacombs, the oldest Greek-Roman cemetery in Egypt, dating back to the 2nd century. Discovered by accident in 1900 AD when a donkey’s legs fell into a shaft, this site blends Ancient Egyptian art with Greek-Roman styles and consists of three underground levels carved into native sandstone.
Alexandria offers a wealth of experiences, from sights to cuisine and shopping. If you have extra time and wish to expand your itinerary, let us know your interests, and we’ll arrange it for you.
Pompey’s Pillar - Visit Pompey’s Pillar, erected atop the roof of the El-Serapium temple dedicated to the Greek goddess Serapis. This pillar was built as a memorial to Roman Emperor Diocletian, who, after besieging the city and causing famine, distributed food to the people, earning their admiration. During the medieval era, crusaders mistakenly believed Pompey’s head was displayed atop the pillar after his assassination by King Ptolemy XIII’s soldiers. Enjoy lunch at a nice restaurant before being transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.
Luxor East Bank
Temple of Karnak - Transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to Luxor. Begin your day tour on the east bank of Luxor with a private English-speaking Egyptologist guide to visit the Karnak Temples, the greatest example of worship in history, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. Construction began in the Middle Kingdom and continued into the Graeco-Roman period.
Luxor Temple - Next, visit Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III in the 18th Dynasty and completed by Ramesses II in the 19th Dynasty. Ramesses II, the most famous king of the 19th Dynasty, ruled Egypt for about 67 years. The temple was dedicated to the great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu, representing the Theban triad. Don’t miss the Obelisk of Ramses II in front of the 1st Pylon. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Luxor.
Luxor West Bank
Valley of the Kings - Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to explore the West Bank. Start with the Valley of the Kings, known for its magnificent burial architecture. Many kings are buried here, including Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tutankhamun, Ramesses VI, Merenptah, and Amenhotep.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built by Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (1490–1469 B.C.). She was the only woman to reign as a pharaoh in ancient Egypt.
Colossi of Memnon - Finally, see the Colossi of Memnon. Transfer to the domestic airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel free of charge for an overnight stay in Cairo.
