• Egyptian Museum - During this stop you will visit the Egyptian museum at Tahrrir square (downtown Cairo). The Egyptian Museum is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East where you will explore its collection of artworks.
• Coptic Cairo - During this stop you will explore Coptic Cairo, where you will visit the Hanging Church and the Monastery of St. George. The “Hanging Church” is named because it was built over the ruins of Old Cairo’s Roman fort and is situated near the Coptic Museum. The church’s ceiling was designed to resemble Noah’s Ark.
• Cairo Citadel - During this stop you will explore Islamic Cairo by visiting the Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Mohamed Ali. The Citadel of Sultan Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi (Saladin) is one of the most iconic monuments in Islamic Cairo and among the most impressive defensive fortresses dating back to the Middle Ages. Its strategic location on the Mugattam Hills provided a formidable defensive position and offers, as it still does today, an unrestricted panoramic view of Cairo. The Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, which dominates the Citadel, is known as the “Alabaster Mosque” due to its marble paneling on its interior and exterior walls. The mosque’s twin minarets are the highest in all of Egypt, each reaching a height of 84 meters. The mosque was built in the Turkish style, consisting of an open court and prayer hall.
• Khan Al-Khalili - You will have free time for shopping in the oldest markets of Khan Al Khalili. The Khan includes traditional crafts, hundreds of workers and artisans specializing in handmade masterpieces such as carpets, crystals, papyrus, and gold and silver jewelry. It is also famous for beautiful pharaonic artifacts, handicrafts, various stones, natural herbs, and incense.
