- Mosque of Muhammad Ali - After picking you up from your Cairo hotel between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM, we will enter the historic center of the largest metropolis in Africa.
The first stop will be the Saladin Citadel, a huge medieval fortress that has become Cairo’s best-known non-pharaonic monument. Inside the fortress we will enter the Mohamed Ali Mosque, known as the Alabaster Mosque for the material that covers it. Its ornate decoration is spectacular.
- Khan Al-Khalili - Leaving the fortress behind we will head to the Jan el-Jalili Market (Khan El-Khalili), the most famous market in Cairo. Walking through its labyrinthine streets is like visiting an authentic open-air museum. A perfect place to buy souvenirs and reproductions of objects from Ancient Egypt.
After the market we will stop to eat. The menu includes various salads and a main course accompanied by rice and vegetables. For dessert, a refreshing fruit salad.
- The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - In the afternoon we will dedicate three hours to discover the Egyptian Museum. Here you will find the masterpieces of the Pharaonic era, its greatest exponent being the treasure of Tutankhamun.
- Synagogue Ben Ezra - We will visit the Coptic neighborhood, one of the most unique in the city. Here, we will visit Al-Muallaqa, better known as the Hanging Church, because it was built on top of the ruins of the Tower of Babylon. Nearby, we will see the Ben Ezra Synagogue, located in the place where the baby Moses is believed to have been found. In addition, we will approach the Church of San Sergio, also called Church of the Cave, where the Holy Family was hidden during its flight to Egypt.
We will finish the tour returning to your hotel at approximately 4:00 p.m.
