Abdeen Palace is a unique historical gem that has been transformed into a museum, showcasing the palace’s opulence and the significant events it has seen from the royal era until the July 1952 revolution. It is one of the most important and famous palaces built during the rule of Muhammad Ali Pasha’s family in Egypt, serving as the seat of government from 1872 to 1952.
• Unknown Soldier Memorial - The Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City is a pyramid-shaped monument in Cairo, located in the Nasr City suburb. Designed by Egyptian artist Sami Rafie, it was built by order of the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat to honor Egyptians who lost their lives in the War of Attrition and the October 1973 War. The site also serves as the burial place of President Sadat, following his assassination in October 1981.
• El Fishawy Cafe - Al-Fishawi Cafe, one of Cairo’s most famous cafés, is located in the Al-Azhar district and is one of the oldest coffee shops in Cairo, dating back to 1797. The cafe gained fame and charm thanks to Egyptian writer Naguib Mahfouz, who frequented it. The cafe witnessed many of the first drafts of his novels and served as a gathering place for friends, writers, artists, and ordinary people.
• Islamic Cairo - Visit Al-Moez Street, the heart of old Cairo, which has been developed into an open museum of architecture and Islamic monuments. The street features landmarks such as the Barqouq mosque & school in Nahassen, El Aqmar Mosque, the Mosque of El Saleh Tale, The Blue Mosque, and the Dome, Hospital, and School of Qalawoon. Stretching from Bab El Fottoh in the north to Bab Zuwaila in the south, it is one of the largest open Islamic museums in Cairo and houses one of the most extensive collections of medieval architectural treasures in the Islamic world. Al Azhar Park, one of the largest and most beautiful gardens in Greater Cairo, spans 80 acres. Announced in 1984 and opened to visitors in 2005, the project took over 7 years to complete at a cost of more than 100 million pounds, funded by the Aga Khan Foundation for Islamic Architecture.
