The Cairo Tower underwent renovations that spanned approximately two years, from 2006 to 2009, carried out by the Egyptian Arab Contractors Company. The restoration and repair efforts amounted to around 15 million pounds. This included treating and restoring the tower’s concrete, adding three floors of metal structures at the base of the tower integrated with its body, and an additional floor above the entrance. An emergency staircase and a visitor elevator were constructed, the tower entrance was developed, and the tower’s facades were finished with new external lighting added.

Established during the Mamluk era as a trade center and named after one of its historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has become a major attraction for both tourists and Egyptians. • Al Moez Ldin Allah Al Fatmi - Al-Muizz li-Din Allah al-Fatimi Street, or al-Muizz Street for short, is a significant north-to-south street in the walled city of historic Cairo, Egypt. As one of Cairo’s oldest streets, it dates back to the city’s foundation by the Fatimid dynasty in the 10th century, under their fourth caliph, Al-Mu’izz li-Din Allah, after whom the street is named. Historically, it was the city’s most vital artery, often referred to as the Qasaba. It served as the main axis of the city’s economic zones, where its souqs (markets) were concentrated. The street’s prestige attracted the construction of numerous monumental religious and charitable buildings commissioned by Egypt’s rulers and elites, making it a rich repository of historic Islamic architecture in Cairo. This is particularly evident in the Bayn al-Qasrayn area, which is lined with some of the most significant monuments of Islamic Cairo.
