Giza Pyramids / Valley Temple / The Sphinx / Egyptian Museum
Pyramids of Giza - The last remaining wonder of the ancient world. For nearly 4000 years, the extraordinary shape, impeccable geometry, and sheer size of the Giza Pyramids have prompted the obvious questions: ‘How were they built, and why?’. Centuries of research have provided parts of the answer. Built as massive tombs on the orders of the pharaohs, they were constructed by teams of workers tens-of-thousands strong. Today, they stand as an awe-inspiring tribute to the might, organization, and achievements of ancient Egypt. Then visit the valley temple and the Sphinx.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - This museum contains many important pieces of ancient Egyptian history and houses the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities, including many treasures from the tomb of King Tutankhamen.
Fly from Cairo to Aswan / Philae Temple / The High Dam / Nile Cruise
Aswan International Airport - After breakfast at the Cairo hotel, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to Cairo airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival in Aswan, our representative will be waiting with a sign bearing your name to meet & assist you, then start your day tour with our Egyptologist guide.
Aswan High Dam - Completed in 1964, from here you can gaze across Lake Nasser.
Temple of Philae - Sail by motorboat to the island of Agilkia. Visit the temple that was relocated from its original island of Philae, which lies submerged most of the year by the waters of Lake Nasser. The main Temple of Isis and its monuments were built between the 26th dynasty and the Roman period.
Nile River Valley - During sunset, enjoy and relax with a sailboat ride on the Nile River in Aswan.
Optional tour to Abu Simbel Temple / Sailing to Kom Ombo Temple
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - This is an optional tour with an additional cost if you would like to visit Abu Simbel temples. Enjoy a visit to Abu Simbel by a private air-conditioned vehicle. The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered masterpieces of ancient Egypt. The Temple of Ramesses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramesses II. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also called the Temple of Hathor, who was the wife of the Sun God. Symbolically, the two Temples, that of Ramesses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor, and the Sun God together as one. Then you will head back to Aswan to return to your Nile cruise. Lunch on board, then set sail to Kom Ombo temple. Enjoy the sailing time.
Temple of Kom Ombo - At 6 pm, visit Kom Ombo temple, standing on high ground overlooking the Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance, each dedicated to a divinity: “Haroeris” with his falcon head and “Sobek” with his crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honor of two deities: the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Kom Ombo’s importance also lies in its huge sugar-cane fields. After the visit, return to the Nile Cruise. Dinner on board, then enjoy the Galabya Party. Continue sailing to Edfu and overnight.
Edfu Temple / Sailing / Karnak Temple / Luxor Temple
Temple of Horus - After breakfast, visit the majestic temple dedicated to Horus, considered by many to be the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian myths, it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus avenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth. Then return to the Nile cruise and continue sailing to Luxor, passing by Esna lock.
Temple of Karnak - In the afternoon at 4 pm, visit the largest temple in the world, where you will see the avenue of the sphinxes of King Ramses II, the largest hypostyle room in the world with 134 columns, the obelisks, and the largest lake (swimming pool) of ancient Egypt.
Luxor Temple - Built by several ancient Pharaohs like Ramses, Amenhotep, and Hatshepsut, the temple was dedicated to the sun god Amun Re (the God of ancient Egypt). After the tour, your guide will take you back to the cruise. Dinner on board. Enjoy the belly dancer show on the cruise.
Valley of the Kings / Hatshepsut Temple / Colossi of Memnon / Fly back to Cairo
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast, disembark the Nile cruise and start your visit to the Valley of the Kings, where you will see the tombs of the pharaohs and the well-preserved colors on the walls. Your tour guide will recommend the best 3 tombs to see. Then visit Hatshepsut temple.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Hatshepsut was the only child of Egyptian King Thutmose I and his wife Queen Ahmose. She was one of the greatest queens and the second female pharaoh to rule ancient Egypt. Hatshepsut was the fifth pharaoh of the eighteenth dynasty of ancient Egypt and took over the rule of Egypt in 1478 BC. Then visit the Colossi of Memnon.
Colossi of Memnon - These are the remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Afterwards, have lunch at a local restaurant, then our representative will transfer you to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo.
Luxor International Airport - After the visits in Luxor, our representative will transfer you to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo.
Cairo International Airport - Upon arrival at Cairo airport, meet & assist by our representative, then transfer to your Cairo hotel for an overnight stay.
Day Tour to Islamic Cairo and Coptic Cairo
Coptic Cairo - After breakfast, start your visit to Coptic Cairo. Your private guide will take you to Old Cairo to see the wonderful Hanging Church, so called because it was built on the Roman Tower of the fortress of Babylon. Then you will see the famous crypt in which the Holy Family stayed beneath the church of Abu Serga. Next, explore the Ben Ezra synagogue of the Jewish community. Your guide will ensure you learn a lot about the unique type of Christianity in Egypt. Your guide will take you to a local restaurant for a typical Egyptian lunch before driving you back to your hotel.
Islamic Cairo - After breakfast, start your visit to Islamic Cairo. Visit the famous mosque (Amr Ibn-AlAs), originally built in 642 AD. The original structure was the first mosque ever built in Egypt, and by extension, the first mosque on the continent of Africa. Then move on to visit the Ibn-Tulun mosque, commissioned by Ahmad ibn Tulun, the Abbasid governor of Egypt from 868–884, whose rule was characterized by de facto independence. The Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan is a massive Mamluk-era mosque and madrassa located near the Citadel in Cairo. Its construction began in 757 AH/1356 CE, with work ending three years later “without even a single day of idleness.” At the time of construction, the mosque was considered remarkable for its fantastic size and innovative architectural components. Commissioned by a sultan of a short and relatively unimpressive profile, al-Maqrizi noted that within the mosque were several “wonders of construction.” After lunch, return to the hotel.
