Great experience. - Amazing experience. Tour guide (Mohamed Gomaa) had in-depth knowledge of museum artifacts with history being told in the simplest, yet explicit form. He speaks English fluently and was very coherent. We had a memorable experience all together. Good value for money, Highly recommended.

Trip of a life time our motherland has a lot to offer and we in diaspora are not done exploring all she has to offer. - Trip of a life time our motherland has a lot to offer and we in diaspora are not done exploring all she has to offer. It was an expensive but intentional trip to get our kids and peers to see and be proud of what the motherland has got to offer and boy we weren’t disappointed. My 2 cents a trip to Egypt wouldn’t be complete without visiting here and taking in all the ancient wonders & sights and truly monumental artifacts. Plan to send an entire day here as it may not even be enough. Also don’t miss out on Luxor & Alexandria.

Cairo Museum - A must visit if you are in Cairo, it is very worth it to have a private guide for several reasons: 1.- you already have your ticket beforehand, and you skip a lot of lines 2.- it is only worth it once, it is so big the museum, if you don't know how to move, you may skip rooms or floors that are important, for example, I remember that at the end there were the portraits of the faius mummies from the Greco-Roman era, woooooo my head exploded. 3.- As always, any piece of art not only involves the subjective taste of the viewer, but also translates what the artist wanted to communicate. By the way, there they told us that they were going to build another museum.

An impressive experience - We had a wonderful guided tour of the museum today. Our guide Zizou was an absolute expert in the field of Egyptian history. With his knowledge we gained great access to the culture and history of the exhibits on display there, of which he showed us the "highlights". After the guided tour we also had time to explore the museum and other parts of the exhibition on our own. The entire tour with pick-up and return including our great guide made this day, despite the 40 degree heat, an unforgettable, relaxed, safe and absolutely enriching experience. Thank you very much.

100% worth it - Our guide Mohamed Gomaa was excellent, very knowledgeable about all the things we wanted to understand better at the museum and the visit was so much better for having a small private tour where we could learn so much more than self-guiding. We were also given some great tips for the rest of our stay Egypt.

Great tour with Zizou! - We had a great visit to the Egyptian Museum Cairo with Egyptologist Zizou. The museum is full of incredible ancient artifacts to the point it can be overwhelming without a guide. Zizou was fantastic. He reached out the evening before the tour to confirm our pickup and was waiting for us at the meeting time. He gave us a nice overview of Egyptian history before the tour and helped make the tour feel relevant and interesting. We had plenty of time for the tour and we didn’t feel rushed. There was also free time available after the formal tour. I would recommend this tour with Zizou without hesitation.

Useful background on ancient Egyptian history, culture and beliefs - The guide, Zizou, was very pleasant, enthusiastic and proud about the Egyptian history and culture. He gave me a good intro into the overall ancient Egyptian history, society and religion, so I can better understand what I'll be seeing. This also helped me when visiting Luxor later that week. Inside he explained a story behind the most important exhibits (~2h) and then left me to explore on my own. To get the most out of him ask any question you have during the tour. Thinking about it now, I wish I had asked him to walk with me while I explore on my own, so I could ask more questions, not sure if it was an option, but it wasn't offered (he offered to wait for me outside), otherwise I'm not sure if the high price is justified if you only get explanations on the most important pieces. The museum itself is not as big as some claim (compared to Louvre or Met), has two levels and can be visited in around 2 hours on your own. Technically you could go on your own, but unless you read on ancient Egypt beforehand, you'd miss on some interesting details behind the exhibits you're looking at.

Check the opening yimes - I booked a tour several weeks in advance, to spend 4 hours in the museum for family of six with private guide from 8-12. The day before the activity they sent me a message to start at 9, because the museum opens at 9. Unfortunately we were in white desert and didn’t get it… so at 8 we were waiting for the guide… he arrived on time, and offered extra activity before the museum for extra 60 USD. We went on boating on the Nile, which we have done before for 20 USD….so it seemed a kind of overcharging. We couldn’t change the time because of our airplane departure. Then we spent one and a half hour in the museum with great explanation of the guide and had free time for photos. The one and half hour was fantastic, but we felt disappointed. They shouldn’t let the boooking from 8, if the museum opens at 9. Also the overcharged boating made us not to enjoy the trip.
