Cairo City Tour, Luxor
Cairo - Get ready to capture the awe-inspiring, world-renowned Pyramids and the Sphinx at the Giza Plateau. Witness their 4,600-year-old magnificence and appreciate the only remaining Ancient Wonder of the World. After soaking in the sights, proceed to Sakkara for more exploration. Known as the first capital of ancient Egypt, it is famous for the step pyramid built in 2700 B.C. Later in the afternoon, board the VIP Sleeping Train to Luxor and check into our premium hotel by the Nile River.
Luxor, Aswan
Luxor - After breakfast, arrive in Luxor city and head to the expansive Karnak Temple Complex, a significant religious center of ancient Egypt with its stunning Obelisk and temples. Your Egyptologist guide will share fascinating stories and mythologies that have inspired these creations for millennia. In the afternoon, travel to Aswan for an overnight stay.
Explore Aswan
Aswan - After breakfast, it’s time to explore Aswan, renowned for its skilled artisans and the Unfinished Obelisk. Take a short motorboat ride to the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, the divine mother of the pharaohs. The temple is beautifully situated on an island in the middle of the Nile. Early in the morning, you can join the optional trip to the stunning Abu Simbel, an iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site, a must-see for history and mythology enthusiasts.
Daily Felucca Cruise on the Nile
Aswan - Relax and enjoy the refreshing breeze of the Nile. Board a traditional Felucca sailboat, heading to the Elephantine and Kitchener Islands on the Nile. After the river excursion, the rest of the day is yours to explore Aswan at your leisure.
Edfu, Kom Ombo, Luxor
Aswan - A day filled with incredible wonders and ancient marvels. Begin with a visit to the Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek. The next stop is Edfu, home to one of Egypt’s largest and best-preserved temples. Dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the temple was constructed over 180 years from 237 BC to 57 BC. After marveling at these sites, travel to Luxor and check into the hotel. After a refreshing break, prepare to visit the Luxor Temple, dedicated to the great god Amun, built atop a smaller structure dating back to the 14th century BC.
Luxor, Cairo
Luxor - The West Bank of the Nile awaits with the remarkable Valley of the Kings. Also known as the “City of the Dead,” it houses elaborate royal tombs carved into desert rocks, filled with treasures for the Pharaoh’s afterlife. As expected, this is where the famous mummy of Tutankhamun III was found. Rising from the desert plain in a series of terraces, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is the next stop. After experiencing these ancient wonders, travel to Cairo by VIP Sleeping Train for an overnight stay.
