Nothing was as promised - The boat ride started off really slow. We had a driver and a tour guide Bilal with us in the car. Our guide,Bilal, did not explain anything to us in the car and spoke to the driver in Egyptian the entire time. The first 1 hr as stated in itinerary is supposed to be in “Cairo”. We sat in the car while our guide went to pick up our food (this is what we assumed as he did not tell us anything). It felt really awkward and weird. I feel like this should’ve been done before we are picked up. Food choice could’ve been picked over whatsup & food picked up prior to picking us up thus not wasting an hour sitting in a car especially when we had two little kids with us. In addition, we stopped to get a drink and everyone got one drink (soda or water) from a store. Once we got on the Felucca we realized that our delectable cousines were sandwiches picked up from a fast food restaurant, 3 coca colas and one water. One drink per person and no desserts. Once the sail started, it got even more awkward. Our tour guide did not speak or provide us with any facts. My husband ended up teaching the kids facts about the Nile River and sailing. The only fact our tour guide provided us is where he went to college. He did offer to take some photos of us which was nice. However, what ruined this experience is when he asked me to take his photos and wanted to give me his number so I can send my photos to him, very unprofessional. My husband gave the tour guide his phone instead as he realized instantly how uncomfortable I felt. In addition, he took a selfie on my phone that I gave to him while he was taking family photos of us. After that, our Felucca ride lasted only 1 hour thus concluding our tour after 2 hours! Wasting one hour waiting for our fast food dinner and floating in a circle for another hour. I will say that this review excludes the Felucca driver, he did his job and did take us around in circles. After we got off the Felucca, we chose to walk back to the hotel because this was only a 3 minute walk from our hotel and did not require for us to be in a car for another one hour as stated on the Viator. We are extremely disappointed in this service and the promise of a 2-hour sailing tour which only lasted one hour. It also stated on Viator that we will be on a luxurious Felucca, however there was nothing luxurious about the Felucca. The photos posted on the Viator are fake. We thought these were new people trying to get their business off the group because they only had 8 reviews so we gave them a chance. We wanted to help them out and provide them with more reviews. However, after this experience I did go back and re-read the 8 reviews that were left and they all seem very fake and similarly written. I have taken several tours via Viator and this by far was the worst one because what is stated on the tour DID NOT happen. We felt cheated.
