Private Tour to Coptic Cairo, Cave Church and Coptic Museum - We really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide, Manar, was very knowledgeable about Coptic history. Manar shared with us many interesting facts from all the places we visited. The Cave Church was carved into the side of a mountain and was amazing to see. The drive to the Cave Church through the “garbage city” was also very interesting. We learned that the Hanging Church was built over two towers of the ancient Roman fortress. We were very happy to visit the site of the cave in which the Holy Family sought refuge during their journey through Egypt at the Church of Sergius and Bacchus. Our driver, Azzat, did a fantastic job of driving us safely through the crazy Cairo traffic! We would definitely recommend this tour to our friends and family.

Amazing tour with Abla - To say my tour guide, Abla is well-versed on the topic of ancient Egypt, is an understatement! She has a Doctorate in Archeology who speaks at least 4 languages that i know of! She was an amazing woman to meet and share the day with. On top of all her knowledge, she is a great photographer as well! I can't recommend her enough for any tour that you really want to learn the history about what you are visiting.

A wonderful day of learning about Coptic Cairo with Manar, our excellent guide and friend. - Manar, our expert tour guide to Coptic Christian sites, and Deuce Azhar, our expert driver, provided a wonderful day of learning the culture and history of Coptic Cairo in a friendly, relaxed environment. Manar has a deep knowledge of the Coptic’s and clearly explained the architecture and symbolisms of the churches. There was a mystery around every corner because we are keen to notice features that more hurried visitors overlook. At each stop, Manar would guide us through the site, then give us free time to carefully photograph our visits. She showed great patience in allowing us to record these special memories and encouraged us to not rush but take whatever time we needed. This would not be possible on a group tour!
One site that we had seen on YouTube but had not planned to see was the unique recycling village of “Garbage City”, a large neighborhood where all manner of freight vehicles - trucks, motorcycles, hand carts, bicycles, cars - haul giant loads of materials sorted by the residents from trash piles to sell.
Manar was quick to resolve a logistics problem when we could not access our tickets to the Coptic Museum due to a technical issue. She offered us several solutions, one being a switch to a sail with lunch on a felucca on the Nile. It was a calm fantastic experience after driving through city traffic. The boat captain she arranged for us did more than pilot the boat. He entertained us, suggested photo poses and encouraged my wife and I to slow dance to his playing of Nat King Cole’s “What a Wonderful World.”
Manar suggested photos with the Cairo background and posed with us for a few lifetime memories of today in this “Wonderful World.”
We could not recommend Manar and this Viator tour more highly in your visit to Cairo. Let her and Deuce Azhar manage the hectic roads and stress of Cairo so you can do what you came for: to learn about this culture and history and enjoy Cairo.

Cave Church is a must see - Manar, our tour guide, was professional and knowledgeable. She contacted us the night before and sent her photo so we could easily find her at our hotel. She again texted when she arrived. She helped us get coffee. She gave lots of background on every site we toured and even while we were driving to the site.
She was flexible—she added some sites on the tour that we requested. The included lunch was good and not like anything I would eat in the US.
Mahmoud was a safe and professional driver.
The church cave is magnificent. We were the only tourists there. The garbage city was interesting. The Coptic museum is interesting. I recommend you go on this tour.

Exceptional tour company - This was our second tour with Travelish Tours, and needless to say, another outstanding tour provided. The Cave Church is really fascinating place, we also saw the Virgin Mary's tree, and the well which she drank from, which was very interesting too. This tour was guided by Abla Saif, who was an exceptional guide, very knowledgeable, good fun, and she was very easy to talk to. The tour was organised from Mahmoud, who is just exceptional at planning and organising everything from start to finish. Don't hesitate to go with Travelish Tours, you'll not just get a good tour, but amazing people looking after you and great customer service with every experience!
