• Cairo - Our journey will encompass a variety of Egyptian artisanal crafts, such as papyrus-making, where you’ll discover the time-honored Egyptian method of crafting the world’s earliest form of paper. Participants will have the hands-on opportunity to create their own papyrus, a process that spans approximately one hour. Subsequently, we’ll explore an aromatherapy oil factory renowned for its therapeutic and cosmetic applications, akin to those used by the Egyptians. This includes an all-natural, handcrafted carpet workshop, where we’ll attend a class on the intricate process of creating these handmade carpets, a laborious endeavor that can extend up to two years for a single carpet. Following these enriching experiences, we’ll visit an Egyptian cotton factory to witness the production of some of the finest cotton goods globally. Our tour will traverse both Cairo and Giza, introducing visitors to the most illustrious families in our arts and crafts community, some of whom have maintained their craft from ancient Egyptian times to the present day.
