Fascinating tour of old Christian churches - This was a fascinating tour of a different side of Cairo. It started with a drive through the narrow, dirty and chaotic streets of “Garbage City,” the only way to reach St. Simon Church. That drive was an experience unto itself. St. Simon is a unique and gorgeous church in a cave beneath a mountain. It was built only about 50 years ago — much more recently than the other churches on the tour — but has an old-world charm of its own. The other churches, also beautiful and well-worth seeing, are clustered together in the Coptic center of Cairo. Our guide was Zizou, a charming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable Egyptologist. This was our third tour with Zizou and his skilled driver, Ehab. The two previous tours covered (1) the pyramids and the new Grand Egyptian Museum and (2) Saqqara, Memphis and Dashur. The breath of Zizou’s knowledge of the history of Ancient Egypt, Islam and Christianity is truly impressive. He brings a high level of enthusiasm and incisiveness to his work. He also encourages questions and frequently offers to take pictures from perfect spots. It was our good luck to have him as our guide.

Great tour of Christian churches of Old Cairo - Hosni was our tour guide and Anwar our driver were both great! Hosni was very knowledgeable about the Christian churches in Old Cairo and provided us with additional fun facts about our visited sites, such as the Hanging Church and the Cave Church. He also took great pics for us. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Coptic Cairo Tour and Nile Cruise - Deluxe Travel organised us a bespoke tour based on what we wanted to do which included Coptic Cairo, St Simon Church in Garbage City, Fustat Pottery and a Nile Cruise to end it all off. Our guide, Tarek, was very knowledgeable and kind. I will always use this company for my Cairo tours.

The many sides of Cairo - Hosni our guide and Essam our driver were excellent. Cairo traffic is horrendous but Essam handled it with ease. Hosni enlightened us about many aspects of Cairo and our visit to several lovely old Coptic churches was made all the more interesting by his commentary and insights. The drive through Garbage City was quite a unique experience. No tour of Cairo would be complete without a visit to this area

An informative day of Egyptian Coptic churches with a garbage city bonus - Our guide Hosni Zahran did a fine job guiding us to and through the various Coptic churches in Cairo, while Essam Hamdoon expertly drove us through the busy streets. Especially interesting was the “garbage city” area that we went through to get to the church of St Simon the Tanner.

I will go again with him - Great trip with an informative guide, being always helpful and clear. He helped me to find a place to buy what i wanted to buy, no added presure to buy or not to buy.
