The house, surrounded by a garden on a barren slope above the road from Deir Al Bahari to the Valley of the Kings, has been restored and decorated with pictures and tools from the excavations. An exact replica of Tutankhamun’s burial chamber has been constructed on the edge of the garden, along with an exhibition related to the discovery of the tomb.

Known in ancient times as Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning ‘the place of beauty,’ it contains more than 90 known tombs, usually consisting of an entrance passage, a few short halls, and a sarcophagus chamber. You will visit three tombs of queens and their sons, such as the tombs of Amun-Khepshef, Khaem-Waset, and Queen Tyti, the wife of King Ramses III. The most notable tomb is that of Nefertari, the favorite queen of Ramses II.
