A+ Tour - We had such a fantastic time on this tour. Reflections Travel was incredibly easy to work with. They were willing to customize our experience based on our timing and interests. All of our guides arranged by Reflections were top notch. In Upper Egypt, ask for Roshdy Khodary to be your guide if you can. He is immensely knowledgeable about the area and its culture and history and will go out of his way to make sure you have a once in a lifetime experience. Roshdy knows how to navigate unruly crowds of tourists and crazy Egyptian traffic and who to talk to maximize your limited time in the area.
Our family rarely hires guides, instead preferring to use guide books and figure things out on our own. In this case, planning our trip through Reflections and trusting their guides was absolutely the right decision. I am confident that our trip to Egypt would not have been nearly as fulfilling without him. We certainly would have been taken advantage of as clumsy tourists without expert guidance. Roshdy in particular truly went above and beyond for us. He gave us honest advice on the experiences we couldn't miss and the experiences that were less important. He was full of laughs, easy-going and constantly working behind the scenes for us (he also knows the perfect places to take pictures).

Wonderful 2-Day Tour of Luxor - There were four of us on a private 2-day tour of the East and West banks of Luxor and we had a wonderful time!!! Youssef and our driver (Shazley) were great hosts!!! Youssef made our tour very enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable and gave us very thorough explanations of every place we visited. If you need a tour guide, pick Youssef. You will have a great time while learning!!

Our tour with Rowdy was excellent! - We started in Cairo, saw the pyramids, and flew down to Luxor. Staff was able to accommodate my wife and kids, as protocol is a little different in Egypt. Helps to have a person that is knowledgeable about the temples and history of ancient Egypt...highlights were the Temple of Karnak, Cairo museum and of course the Pyramids.

Very thorough! - Cairo, Haithim, Sam; Luxor/Aswan, Youssef: all made certain everything was taken care of at all times. Each contacted the next to make each transition smooth! Youssef took extra care when we needed help and guidance with cash machine and pharmacy. He made it stress free and is extremely knowledgeable!

Sayed was an exceptional tour guide - We had a fantastic time on this tour thanks to our very well informed and entertaining guide - Sayed. He had a wealth of information about Egyptian history and shared it with us as well as looking after our every need. We felt very well supported the whole time we were under his care and guidance. Would highly recommend him as the best guide you could get. Overall a great experience with this Reflections Travel tour.

My Egypt trip - Everything went on schedule and we didn’t have any delays, cancellations or unpleasant surprises except not being picked up from the Cairo airport on arrival from Istanbul. After waiting for about an hour and not getting any answers to our phone calls, we had to figure out our way to the Mercure le Sphinx Hotel in Giza from the airport. After we got to the hotel, it still was not very easy to get hold of the Reflections people with the help of hotel staff.
We got reimbursed for the amount we paid to the taxi next day through Sam (Ahmet).
We are especially happy with our Nile Cruise guide Mohsen. He was very informative, polite and considerate. He took full action to retrieve my mom’s jacket which she left at the hotel room in Giza.
The only thing is that we could have been informed more about extra tours we could have made during our free times. I realized after my arrival back in Istanbul that I could have seen more especially in Cairo.

Definitely have been more communicative and would have enjoyed it more had I been better prepared. - My main issue was the lack of communication. Before arriving, I checked in just to ensure everything was received because I did not receive a single email from "Reflections" indicating confirmation of my itinerary nor what to expect upon arrival. After asking, I was told someone would meet me at the airport. Indeed, someone did, but my entire time over there was very stressful as it consisted of me constantly asking, practically begging, to know what was next and when. It's pretty bad business to not provide an itinerary in advance not to mention even after you are already there!
When I arrived, someone indeed found me and got me to a hotel in Cairo. I was told to be in the lobby at 7am the next morning. Turns out, I was going to be taken to the Pyramids the next day. The guide for the day was great and, after that excursion was over, I was told to be in the lobby the following morning at 4:30am! Apparently, I had a flight at 5:55pm to Luxor. Again, none of this was communicated in advance and I had to consistently ask when/what to expect the following day.
The next morning, someone took me to the airport but upon arriving in Luxor, there was no one there to greet me. All these other tour companies had signs and people to receive them but there were ZERO signs for "Reflections Travel". My phone did not work in Egypt and neither did my email for some reason so, thankfully, I was able to get someone else to reach them to be told someone was outside to retrieve. Still remains unclear as to why every other tour operator had a person with a sign inside yet theirs was the only one not to, nor did anyone tell me in advance to expect otherwise.
Fresh the early morning flight, luggage in hand, I was told we were going directly on a tour. Again, no communication in advance, I hadn't eaten all day obviously, wasn't prepared for a tour and assumed we might go to another hotel first to drop off luggage, etc. but this was not to be the case. The guide and driver that day were very kind and stopped somewhere for me to eat/drink something before our tour but it seemed like very poor programming from the tour operator's standpoint. The tour that day was great as was my guide but then they dropped me off at this boat which was anything but a 5-star liner as advertised. The major complaint, first-world as it may sound, was no wi-fi at all. The hotel had it and, had I known this in advance, I could have invested in a substantial data plan to combat this issue but it was practically noon and I was dropped off on this boat in literally the middle of nowhere (imagine only rural farmland around) with the rest of the daylight wasted, nowhere to explore nearby, no wifi to pass the time. I walked all around where this ship was remotely docked and before having dinner on the ship. I asked my guide what was the expectation for the following day and he said he'd have to get back to me but to ask the front desk before bed that evening. Needless to say, this boat also got very cold at night, the cabin was cold in general, and the cabins did not have any heat which was necessary for chilly nights in December. Again, had I known all this advance, I might have had a more comfortable trip which is why I caution any who night book such a tour to a: invest in a data plan for when you're held captive on this boat for all those nights. b.) bring warm clothes in general for the boat/sleeping cabins. I was able to get an extra blanket for the bed which helped a lot c) expect to not know when/where your next excursion will be.
The hotels all had wifi and things to do, nearby places to explore. The boat did not, was extremely limiting, expensive. They did not provide any beverages on the ship so everything was at an additional charge. Even water was charged at $4EGP/bottle whereas on the land, I got it for $.50EGP.
I had great guides, if anything, I wish I had taken better advantage and more time at the sights and just wish the tour company had been A LOT more communicative. If you are better prepared than I, are not a solo traveler who felt bored and trapped as a result, invest in a data plan, you will probably enjoy the experience more.
